A GRAND DISSAPOINTMENT!
By J R, 6/30/11
The only good thing was the service and the view, but when it comes to value at the bar, then it is a GREAT dissapointment. A Bombay Gin Martini in a very small martini glass, was $17.00 and not worth one bit. The Virgen Bloody Mary was ok, but for $12.00 not worth it.

Safety? Priority?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/11/10
The hotel was beautiful, the surrounding area lovely, but on our second day, a person entered our room with my key because the hotel gave the man our room and key. When I called the front desk and voiced my complaint, the personal said security was looking for the man and that our keys would be changed. I was extremely upset with the way the situation was handled, they asked, "what would you like us to do?" I don't know, maybe provide a safe room where I don't have to worry about strange men entering when I'm watching tv in my underwear? Disgusting attitude! The situation totally put a damper on my trip.

Might Not Go Back To This Hotel Again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/11/10
This was our first trip to Quebec City and we chose the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac. The hotel was beautiful and it was in the middle of everything such as shops, restaurants and etc. We stayed there for two nights, but it cost a lots of money....Over $400 per night. We got three rooms. Two rooms were the same with less cost than another room. Isn't that ridiculous? Also, we were disappointed with the condition of the room and the personnel at the hotel. Hope this does not happen to you.

We love it!
By TammyC, 7/31/10
This was our first trip to Quebec City and we chose the Frontenac. The room was awesome. We had 2 double beds and a sleeper sofa. The hotel was beautiful. It is right in the middle of everything. The lobby is busy with people coming an going. The only thing I did not like was the air conditioning in our room wasn't very good. I got a good rate by calling the hotel. They offered to beat the AAA rate. If this is your first trip to Quebec City, I would recommend staying here if you can afford it.

Will never stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/7/08
We stayed at the Frontenec for five nights and was very disappointed with the condition of the lobby and the personnel at the hotel. The restaurant personnel was far from polite and the food was below standard. We reported to the staff that we had a barking dog in the room immediately adjacent to our room and the matter was never remedied. We love Quebec City and plan on returning but would never consider the Frontenec again.

Don't even bother
By Poonam Singhal, 9/8/08
Completely disillusioned. Pokey, dark and dingy hotel with supecilious staff. Small rooms with chintzy wallpapers, small bath, no internet, horribly expensive parking, and staff that wanted $30 for a microwave for our special food needs. I have stayed in 10 hotels in Canada over the last fortnight and this was number 2 from the bottom after Howard Johnson Kamloops. Save your money and your ire and book into another standad 4-5 star hotel which will be much more pleasant.

For first time visitors, THE ONLY place to go!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/6/08
This hotel is centrally located and in the thicke of things. You can see ice-breakers on the St. Lawrence in the wintertime, sledge down the tracked hills, and drink real hot chocolate while holding mittened hands. It's the perfect romantic spot to go. We go back every year for our anniversaire!

One time only
By Jeff F, 8/21/07
Stayed here recently, an experience. Lovely building, way too much going on. Reminded me of the Del Coronado in San Diegeo, overwhelming. Room was OK, not great, service was friendly. Paid $380/night for a room and when I went to the business center to check email, they wanted $5/15 minutes. Give me a break, no one likes to be nickled and dimed, not for $400/ nite. Other than that, it was OK. If I went back to Quebec, I would look for something a little bit quieter.
