Hotel Chateau Bellevue, Quebec City

The staff is very courteous and helpful, the valet parking system is a major plus in the Old City where parking can be a real headache. You can't beat the location, just inside the city wall, between Rue St. Louis and the Citadel (both in easy walking distance). The wine machine in the lobby sitting area isa nice touch as well. All the Quebec papers are free as is continental breakfast. I thought is was very welcoming and very nice for the price.

I stayed here several years ago & was pleased with the accomedations and loved the view. In January 2008 I booked a room overlooking Govenors Park for a week in August to enjoy the 400th Anniversery fete. I booked early because I knew that the city would be crowded and I specifically wanted a room with the view that this hotel had. Over the 8 months between booking & arrival, I contacted them several times about adding a day to my stay. I always noted that I wanted/reserved a room overlooking the park. They responded that I had a room overlooking the park. When I arrived- they told me there was an "error" and my room actually was a small, cramped, noisy room with a view of the parking lot. I was furious. The desk staff did nothing - NOTHING- to correct the situation- saying they already had the other rooms filled. The one desk clerk was outright rude and arrogant. The other was one of the ones I had corresponded with- I showed her the copies of her emails- all stating my room was reserved & it had a park view. Her answer was oh, well. The room I was stuck with because the city was filled and there were no easily found empty rooms was horrible. Too much furniture- none of it useful, noisy, unpleasant. The manager said there was nothing they could do because "the rooms were full". During the night they turned off the ice machine "because it was too noisy" and left guests with no ice to use for drinks, etc.Room temperature soda or water during August is not all that tasty. What kind of modern hotel doesn't offer ice 24/7? Out of an almost $1000 hotel bill- which would have been worth it IF I'd had the view but NOT the room I ended up with- they refunded me a mere $80 that only paid for repairs to my car when it was vandalized in their parking lot. This is my personal subjective review of Hotel Belleview- do not waste your money. Do not count of getting what you reserve. Stay somewhere else. This was the worst customer service and worst accomendation I have ever experienced in 40 years of traveling. I will visit Quebec again- it is a magnificent, fascinating city. Generally the people are warm, friendly and tolerant of the non-French speaking visitors. That doesn't describe the desk staff at this hotel. I will never stay nor recommend to anyone to stay at this hotel under any circumstances.

A very decent hotel. In a great location. Not too far from the center of town. It gives you a great European feeling. Very well priced and perfect for a few days and nights away.

Not only is this hotel centrally located in the "old" city, the spacvious rooms have a wonderful view of Govenours Park, the St Lawrence and Levi. The service was amazing, staff helpful, friendly and bilingual. This is the only hotel I would stay at in the old city!

The hotel was extremely clean, staff very friendly, great location, great price. Inconvienient parking (vehicles are valet parked out back of the hotel blocking each other and valet (hotel staff) need to manuever the cars in and out for you.

Very pleasant hotel, friendly, helpful staff, great location, and pleasant surroundings: a truly solid value. We will stay there again whenever we are in Quebec.

The location was fantastic - near the attractions for the winter carnaval. It was private, yet close to it all. The rooms are cozy- just what you want to come back to after a day out in the cold. Highly recommended! we'll be back every year! Mickey and Ginny M.

This is the second time we've been there. We enjoyed the location and their package deal is great. The people at the desk are extremely helpful and very, very nice. We took my sister this time and she's hoping to join us the next time we go.

This was more like staying with friends or a B&B with hotel amenities than a hotel. Everyone on the staff was pleasant, helpful and friendly- much more so than any large hotel or major chain I have ever stayed at in 40 yrs of traveling. Located facing a small historic park & the Citedal grounds only 2 blocks walk away- the rooms have a sweeping view of Dufferin Terrance (only one block walk) and the river. In my entire stay in Quebec I only had to drive once- this hotel was so perfectly located that I could walk everywhere. I liked it so much- both the hotel and the city I am already planning a second vacation there! Hotel bellevue mixes old world charm with model amenities- it is a perfect choice.

This is a comfortable, clean, inexpensive hotel with a view of the St. Lawrence that you would pay $400 for at the Chateau. When you book make sure you ask for the larger room unless you are comfortable in a shoebox. Most of all you can't beat the location. It's a short walk to everything in the Old City. Restaurants, shops, street performers, any thing you might ask for.
