Auberge Hatley Inn, North Hatley

This was a historic and important property in the Relaise et Chateaux organization, achieving Relaise et Gourmand status under owner Robert Gagnon and Chef Alain Lebrie. We visited several times each year and loved each visit,Monsieur Gagnon was personally responsible for building the Relaise et Chateaux network in Norht America and served on the board for many years. The property was sold to the Germaine hotel group of Montreal and the property suffered a series of cost cutting down grades under their direction. The hotel burned to the ground while under renovation in Spring 2006, with the owners claiming the expense to rebuild to high, bringing a close to one of the great small luxery hotels of North America,
