No accomodation

Having made a reservation in the morning, confirmed by VISA, my wheelchair-bound 82 year old Mother and I arrived at the desk at about 7 PM. Sorry, your reservation was not confirmed by VISA so the room was released at 6 PM. After relating that I had, indeed, confirmed because prior to calling the Marriot I had called five hotels that were sold out. We don't have your VISA here so we can't do anything for you. At my insistance the manager was called and he was absolutely unaccomodating - I had him come to the car so he could see that I was not misrepresenting my mother's situation, and so that she could vouch for my VISA confirmation. This did not move him and we were turned away. Fortunately the Holiday Inn had rooms left so at long last I got my distraught mother into bed in preparation for dialysis at 8 AM.
