Staff are Strange
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/7/09
I brought my family to this hotel. We all got the flu - my kids got sick all over the towels so I asked for a whole set of new ones. The staff grumbled and would only give me one new towel at a time. They said they were running out. The new towels we got were tattered and thin. The front desk staff were RUDE, incompetent, not helpful and the tourist fellow was equally as rude. The balcony rails were too far apart - my child could have gone through. Pool started at 5ft. Doesn't work for small kids. I would go back again because of the price, location and the room was clean. I can ignore the staff.

One of the best !!
By Alin Vasilas, 3/18/07
Visited with parents and fiance, reserved a full suite for 2 nights. Great location, quiet surrounding, great service, friendly staff, cozy pool. The parking lot was almost full, but always found a spot. Have stayed at the Empress in the past, THIS is a much better value for your dollar by far. Its not the most luxurious, but given the price, cleanliness, and proximity to everything one needs to see in Victoria, it is hard to beat. Our coffee maker had the hiccups, it was replaced almost instantly, and with a smile. I just wish that next time I can get a balcony overlooking the Harbor.

location!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/19/05
This hotel is located right in downtown victoria seriously steps away from the harbour. You have all of the conveniences of staying in a downtown hotel, however it's off the strip enough so that you do not have the noise of the pubs and the traffic to deal with. Perfect for kids as there are parks surrounding it, and a pool downstairs. Staff exceptionally knowledgeable of the area and helped to plan our day. Very highly recommended!

Staying in Victoria
By Betsy D, 6/13/05
I would recommend staying here if you are traveling to Victoria. It is within walking distance of most of the tourist attractions. The service was very good. There is no breakfast, but there is a coffee maker in the room. The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms are nice.
