I worked at Signal Mountain Lodge for 2 seasons and I loved it. Many trail heads around the Resort and ask almost any employee, they can tell you of a good trail for a fun day. The Marina, located next to the returants down the hill, has several powered and non motarized boats. If you need something special, just ask and if it's within the staffs power and within reason, they will do their best to accmidate the request. The resturant is located in the parking lot and is the first thing you see after you pull into the parking lot. It has a bar which is open during the day to also sever food. The Trapper Bar and Grill severs the best Nachos in the area. The Peaks has a great view of Mount Moran and severs fine dining. It gives a wonderful veiw and great food. The campground has great spots for grilling and a fire pit. As long as the area isn't that dry.... All in all it is a wonderful place to stay and is only a few minutes from Yellowstone National Park. Wild life comes around regularly.

Home Away From Home Cabin
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/11/08
We just returned from a week long trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park. We spent 2 nights at Signal Mountain Lodge staying in their "Home Away from Home" cabin. It is a stand alone log cabin with lovely rustic furnishings and a beautiful gas fireplace. It had a complete kitchen and laundry room, with full size appliances (refrigerator with ice maker, range, dishwasher, microwave, washer & dryer) and lots of storage area. It had a feel of walking back in time. I could imagine the origins of this wonderful place back in the 1920's when it was a fishing retreat for east coast gentlemen. The views are spectacular. The staff kind. We also enjoyed the ammenities of the lodge, including internet. There are books to borrow, games to play, and the only tv set within miles. The restaurants are excellent. The boat rental area easy to use. The gift shop had many unique, area specific items, including history and nature books. Best of all is the view. It simply can't be beat. You can reach out and touch both the lake and the towering mountains. We also had the privilege of being visited by 2 different moose on different days. They are amazing creatures. I would recommend this place highly. It is not upscale and trendy. It is a family destination, centrally located within the Park, with the warmth of home built right in. The grocery/convenience store is quite limited. There is a more full service grocery store at Colter Bay that I recommend taking a drive to if you need to buy more extensive food items.

Breakfast at the Trapper Grill was the best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/25/08
We just drove down from staying in Yellowstone National Park for four nights and stopped at the Lodge for some breakfast. After days of eating fast food, snack food, or who knows what, we were very happy to get some organic coffee, and the best healthy omelette I've ever tasted in my life. I highly recommend this place for breakfast. Reasonably priced, and they even have etch-a-sketches for the kiddies (or for the adults). The view from the picture windows surrounding us were breathtaking- snowcapped teton mountains reflecting off of the lake. What more could you ask for?

My Favorite Jackson Lake resort
By Susan, 09/09/07
I loved the location, proximity to the Lake and breathtaking views. It's not trying to be a luxury resort, just a great place to stay and relax for the money. The cabins are very quaint and comfortable, the young staff extremely friendly, and the wildlife roaming the area fascinating. The bar and restaurants have good food and friendly service. The best part was the fact it is right on the lake, with rental kayaks and canoes in which you can paddle around Jackson Lake and visit the islands with access to marvelous hiking trails. Pack your jeans and hiking boots and go. I've been back every year.

Filthy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/05
The views were great, but unfortunately, that is the only good thing about this rip off. First, the room was filthy. We ended up cleaning the stove and the pots and pans. If you stay for more than one day, bed sheets don't get changed until after the fourth day. Until then, their so called housekeeping staff didn't even vacuum the floors or make the beds. You'll also be entertained by the bug and food stains on the walls. Now, if that isn't enough to tickle you silly, wait till they come back and charge you extra (after you've checked out)for, of all things, additional room clean-up. Obviously, we cannot recommend this joint.

Great little rustic cabins!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/04
We stayed 2 nights - very nice location - close to the 2 parks - had some problems in the restaurant for breakfast (very slow staff and food cold) but the late staff made up for it - cabin might have been cleaned a little better but it was the end of their season. Other than that would stay again.

What a beautiful place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/04
We were traveling through Moran, WY and stopped at Signal Mtn. Lodge for lunch and R & R. The restaurant was exceptional! Great food and excellent service. A walk down to the lake after lunch was very relaxing. Also, if you like shopping, SML has a wonderful gift shop.
