Excellent value for in-park
We stayed at one of the Lake Yellowstone Hotel Cabins. While some National Park cabins are very "rustic", or almost primitive, these were very nice. Our cabin was fairly roomy, with two double beds, desk and dresser. We had no trouble unpacking for our 4-day hiking trip. Very comfortable bed, and two good pillows on each.
Service people were very friendly, but the hotel was somewhat short staffed, probably because it was early season.
Dining options were limited this early in the season, and the main dining room in the hotel is somewhat pricey. Reservations are DEFINITELY needed, and should be booked when you make your reservations for lodging.
Food was excellent, but servings were too large in my opinion. One entree would be adequate for two people. Breakfast service was slow, probably because of the early season short staffing problem, but the breakfast buffet was fine. We never ate lunch in the dining room, so I have no information on that.
I didn't give it 5 stars, because it wasn't perfect. If you want to see the sights of Yellowstone, and hike some of the wonderful trails, this is an ideal place to stay
NOTE - no in room phones or internet service.
