Disappointing Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/23/05
We got in late on September 3rd, and were dog tired. All we wanted was a bed and a clean place to stay. We got half of that request. Parked car in back by entrance #3. Foul smell of rotting garbage was permeating the parking area. Egressed building through entrance #3, considerable dry mud in foyer, carpeting worn out and dirty, even in main hallways. Plenty of scraps on the hallway paint. Entered room and found that at least the room was clean, but the carpet was badly worn, the room hadn't been painted in some time. There was a stain on the drapes, looked like some sort of bodly fluid. In the bathroom, the toilet's water closet dripped water all night, and the exhaust fan did not work. There was a ring of mildew growing all around the upper part of the wall above the shower. The bathtub was dull in finish and the fixtures were dull from what I supposed was hard water deposits. The bathroom door interior surface was delaminating, the door hinges were visibly rusty, and so was the door casement. I sent a letter to Best Western's main office on September 12th. No response was received as of this posting. I did however receive a membership to the Best Western Gold Crown Club, which is now in the garbage. It is unfortunate, because this facility is structurally top notch, has an attached restaurant and should under normal conditions be classifiable as a three star hotel. I however give it negative one stars. All the place needs is paint, carpeting, minor repairs, and a new cleaning staff. Consider this a much deserved bite in the backside from a tried traveler.
