Dirtiest Place ever! But...
By ,
The cabin we received was K-1. The nastiest room i have ever seen. The shower had mold growing up the walls and a glob of hair in the drain. Since we arrived so late, they couldn't move us. Not a restful night. However, showing the manager pictures and encouraging them to visit the cabin, we were put in another rustic cabin but at least it was clean. Also, the manager comp'd the first night. Look at your cabin before they check you in so you can say it is not acceptable.

HORRIBLE!!!!!!
By ,
This was the worst experience of my life, I loved being there in Yellowstone, but the nights wee horrible. The shower was short and cramped, the bed was puny, the rug was stained, the lights did not work and no one fixed them! It was all just and awful experience!

Very Clean!
By ,
We stayed in the Western Cabin and were pleasantly accomodated. The room is "rustic" yet some recent upgrades in the room make it clean and a very pleasant and relaxing place. The bathroom was especially clean...which was very important to us. You will enjoy your stay there! Also, to those of you with young families...don't worry...there is a restaurant and "General Store" right on the property for anything you might need!

Great value for a clean austere little cabin
By ,
We checked in a bit late in the evening August 2006 and it was just beginning to rain. There was this incredible lighting show in the far sky and the temperature was beginning to drop. The desk staff at the Main Lodge was very helpful in getting us checked in and giving us directions. The small 2 bed cabin which we'd reserved was clean, austere and absolutely perfect. They do not have a TV or phone. There is some sporadic cell phone reception but w/ the deer and buffalo right outside, seriously, who cares about all the modern conveniences. The sink was actually in the bedroom and the small bathroom was warm and cozy in the morning. The room heater worked almost too well and we needed to use it for only a few minutes even though the temperature dropped to the 30's. The rain turned to snow later that evening melting before it hit the ground, but my teenage son and I were inside talking about how lucky we were to again find such an awesome place to stay. We'll definately stay here again!

Great stay
By ,
First of all, the cabins are inexpensive. They are clean and rustic. We woke up to buffalo snorting outside our window. The cabins are located away from the main lodge in the woods. You can walk to the lodge and dodge the buffalo on your way.

Central Locale
We stayed at the Canyon Lodge (not the cabins) over the Fourth of July. The locatio is great for visiting other areas of the park, not much more than an hour away from anything, but the lodge buildings are fairly set back from the main Canyon complex and a bit too far away from the "Grand Canyon" itself. Power was out the first night, but the staff was well prepared for this, as you should be too (bring a samll falshlight, just in case). Most of the cabins I saw (from the outside) look pretty rustic, so next year, I'm staying at Old Faithful so I can take a short walk and be in the geyser field anytime I want.
