Do not let the Hilton name fool you
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/30/10
We stayed in this hotel for two nights as part of a weekend getaway. It didn't take long before we realized this hotel should not have been allowed to use the Hilton name which is recongized for clean, comfortable and updated facilities. The hotel looks nothing like what is promised on the hotels website as it is hardly on a river and outdated. Aside from the building itself the front desk staff was rude and imcompentent. Not only did they recommend a place for lunch that once we got there discovered it did NOT serve food, only beer...on several occasions they would call a cab for us and the staff would never call the room to let us know the cab was waiting for us outside as we had asked. We requested a late check out and when we were a little behind packing up, the front desk gave us a call threatening to charge another night stay if we didnt leave. By far one of the worst hotels I have stayed at and would not recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Milwaukee. Do not let the beautiful website and Hilton name fool you- the hotel is awful.

Nice but outdated.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/29/09
The good things we noticed about the hotel…. the customer service was excellent. Check in for seven was a breeze. Rooms were nicely sized and clean. Pricing was appropriate for the area and services. The bad things include the restaurant connected to the hotel. It must have been cooking fish and the stench was horrible. When we got to our rooms it was like stepping into a cave. Everything was decorated in a dark color. No refrigerator or microwave. The "free" breakfast was pitiful. Overall I'd say it is a good one nighter hotel.

Farewell...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/07
I sent my mom to the Hilton because I used to stay there every month, but when I checked in, I paid for the room in cash, then was told I had to put a credit card down for incidentals, or room service, which I didn't mind, but It put a hold on my credit card for over 5 days, secondly, you charge now for phone calls when they used to be free! What happened to the free "Continental Breakfast" that you used to have?! Your employees now slip papers under the doors about charges for phone calls, when you should wait until the guest checks out. Guests already pay for the room, must you nickel and dime them to death on top of that? You made my moms stay unbearable!!! There are motels down the street with rooms just as nice, with free phone calls, free continental breakfast, and if you order room service,or whatever your order, is taken care of when the guest checks out in the morning. This is how The Hilton was when I was staying there a few times every month. I won't send anyone else there!!!

Ok, but not great!
By SaraM, 9/13/05
The Hilton on the river was clean, orderly, and offered good customer service. However, for the price ($90 per night - group rate) we would have appreciated more room amenities; microwave and small refrigerator in the room would have been great. Even if there is no microwave in the room, the hotel should offer a kitchenette for guest use. This hotel offers only the option of having the front desk personnel warm food in a microwave for you.
