Wedding night ruined
By ,
The reception for my son and daughter-in-law were held at the Best Western (airport location) in October. Overall the reception itself went smoothly and we were basically pleased with the reception. We also booked rooms for out of town guests and a room for the wedding party to use the night before and night of the wedding. In addition I booked a suite for the bride of groom for the night of the wedding. Everything that could go wrong, and then some, happened with that suite and resulted in a ruined wedding night for the newlyweds. Although I talked to the reservation staff on more than one occasion to confirm my card held the room and would pay for it in full they insisted my son give a card to pay for the room. The only card he had on him didn't go through at first and there ensued the ball being dropped by their incompetent staff. They were then locked out of their room 3 times during the course of the evening. When my son finally got into the room he was 'surprised' to find strangers and a member of the hotel staff in his room! Apparently the staff let the some of the wedding party FROM ANOTHER RECEPTION into the room by mistake to decorate it. Then they wanted the bride, my daughter in law, to clean up the mess they made and bring them the 'decorations' they scattered all over to the front desk so they could decorate the other parties room. This was after midnight when my son and his bride just wanted to relax and enjoy the rest of their special night. Then they filled the whirlpool only to find out it was broken and complained again to the front desk. With a huge amount of negative attitude, the staff gave them another room and 'comped' the room for them. But that wasn't right either because they should not have had to pay for the room at all - I had prepaid for it! They get moved and into their new room in the wee hours of the morning - my daughter in law now in tears and my son totally exhausted. The next morning after a miserable night they went to make coffee and the coffee pot was filthy with old coffee and grounds. To top it off the towel basket had mold growing on the bottom onto the countertop. After complaining numerous times about the incident to the staff there, as well as a manager and supervisor, I was told they were 'sorry.' They also admitted to me that the staff that night had messed up so badly with this incident that they were all written up! The last person I talked to said the GM would call me but he never did. I have attempted to call him but am put on hold for 20 minutes and then given his voice mail. I'm sure with caller Id they know who is calling them now and are avoiding me. I had hoped he would atleast call and apologize but he has not. I have never written a negative review before but I felt it was needed in this instance. The way my son and his wife were treated were deplorable - especially on their wedding night. It has angered and frustrated both sides of the family to think we spent a good deal of money there on the reception and additional rooms and then the bride and groom were treated so poorly. I hope if you do choose to use this place of business you will have a better experience and that the 'friendly and pleasant' staff mentioned in the other reviews, are on duty when you stay there.

50th anniversary
By ,
Felt that we were unfairly treated. We booked the 50th Anniversary party for April the 9th at the beginning of March. We worked with a gal named Jean. No contract was written just a recipet for th 4K we put down. No mention of a no fault policy. Jean was to contact us 2 weeks prior to the event to finalize things. We kept calling her phone number and it would go directly to voice mail. Little did we know that she was no longer with the hotel. Finally our granddaughter wrote a letter to the hotel manager stating that my husband had expired on March 31st and explained that we had no official contract and the Jean promise and could we get our deposit back. No way. The manager worked a few things out and promised to send a check for 2k to me, and we could take the other 2k out with features at their hotel. As of this date,(April 14) I have not received the check. Tell me, what features can we work out with a hotel practically in our backyard? We did make reservations for both Easter and Mothers Day buffets. The manager told me that he would be there to personally make sure we were accepted. I guess there is no fool like an old fool. Had we known about the no return policy, I would never had put 4k down as a deposit. 1k would have sufficed

WHAT A JOKE
By ,
booked a room last week, used my credit card to book and hold the room. Then when i got to the hotel i paid cash for the room and had no problems. This week i called and make a reservation and did the same thing, holding a room with the credit card and told the person on the phone once i got here i would pay cash like i did last week. Once i got here they would not let me pay cash for a room. Thats right, they wouldnt take a hundred dollar bill. I asked to talk to the manager and was told he wasnt in. I said i did this last week and there was no issue, the dest clerk said they werent supposed to let us pay with cash. So not only did they not let us get the room they said if we didnt cancel the room by 4pm they could charge us for reserving the room and not getting. What a joke, we are there with a 100 dollars and wont give us a room then wanna charge us for not getting it. I will never ever stay at a best western again!!!!!!!! What kinda of company offers a service but wont accept cash, i thought cash was king???? Dont stay here!!!!!

Never again....
By ,
I had booked a "park & fly" pkg at best Western since I would be flying out early AM on May 11th, 2008 & needed a place to leave my car. Check-in was very slow, altho professional, with only 1 person working the desk. Upon entering my room I discovered a half-eaten chicken dinner left on the table in a styrofoam container. Luckily I found John, a maintenance worker, who disposed of the leftover meal. I was also lucky to have Christy as my waitress that evening. She's excellent!! Upon my return, I had to wait 2 hours for a shuttle to pick me up from the airport & transport me to my car, which is basically across the street. I had called BW 6 times to let them know I was waiting for them & each time I received the reply that a shuttle was on it's way. A cab driver even called them once to let them know I was waiting, to no avail. After 2 hours a shuttle showed up & took me to my vehicle. The driver said that she didn't work for Best Western but the hotel she worked for had gotten a call for help from Best Western requesting they send someone to get me. I could have flown to Philadelphia in the time it took them to send a shuttle for me...AND I paid extra for this service! They never gave me a reason, apologized for being late or even attempted to contact me afterwards. I would not recommend the "park & fly" option. However, the staff at the hotel was friendly & my room was clean, except for the left-over chicken dinner.

not a place to go just to get away
By ,
First off when we arrived the parking lot was soo full of cars that it took us a long time to find a spot. Once we checked in we went to our room only to find someone else was already checked in to the room. So they had to move us. Hotel was very full due to airport delays. Pool area was nice but weird seeing you needed a key everytime to enter the pool area in a holidome. Then the staff kept kicking children under the age of 16 out of the hot tub.The restrooms for the pool where far away (you had to go out past the lobby into an area where people are going for wedding receptions). The pool was only open till 10 and didn't open till 8 a.m. The rooms were ok but no fridge or microwave. The shower head was low and was hard to take a decent shower especially with barely any water presure and hot water would vary greatly throughout shower. Not much fun for just a get away night.

Great for stay-and-fly
By ,
Booked through Best Western web site. With an 8:00AM flight and the prospect of rotten weather, I decided to spend the night before near the airport. This was the only motel I found at a reasonable price which had both free parking(up to 14 days in conjunction with your stay) and a hot breakfast. It worked out very well, being able to enjoy sausage, eggs, and a waffle at 6:00AM and then go to the airport for a 4 hour journey. The only downer was that the check-in was staffed with only one person, despite the place being booked full, so it was slow. I recommend the place and would stay there again.

Keep up the good work...
By ,
I have stayed at the Best western a few times with my children. we love coming here just to get away sometimes. I would come and bring them more, but bills are pretty high now thats the only reason we have not been there. I have been to many other hotels, just to take the kids and get away. This is the pretiest one yet. The greenery in the pool really gives you a good feeling.

Is there a light in this place?
By ,
I wanted a hotel by the airport and with a pool - this fit both billings. That's about the best thing I can say. The lobby looks fabulous and in the day, I'm sure it's lovely. At night it could be the setting of any movie involving a haunting. The long, twisted walk to the antiquated elevator revealed it's seclusion and many blind spots. Although nothing happened, I didn't feel safe. The room was equally dark. The safe door would not close, so I had to turn the entire nightstand around. There is little ventilation in the bathroom, which might be why the water stayed lukewarm in the shower, but still the condensation creates obvious problems in there. Overall, not the best Best Western I've ever been in.
