Plaza Hotel and Suites - Eau Claire, Eau Claire

From the moment we walked into our room, in the tower section, my entire party was SUPER pleased with everything! Our room was on the 5th floor; everything was very clean and smelled GR8 for being a smoking room! The room was VERY clean! It had a microwave (working even.lol) a refrigerator (working also...lol), a lighted make-up mirror in bathroom area; an iron and board in room and the pool was just like BATHWATER, it was FANTASTIC! Bergundy's Restaurant inside the hotel has GR8 food and ALL the staff were so nice to talk to and very helpful with EVERYTHING! The only drawback to this hotel is that because they are so popular, and have several Ballrooms available to rent, when there is a wedding, or graduation, parking becomes a real nightmare for the guests. The housekeeping staff did as we asked and was very pleasant to deal with. The continental breakfast was very very nice! 4 different cereals, a ton of danish to choose from; white and wheat bread for toast; apples, oranges; orange, apple and cranberry juices and during the weekdays they have waffles as well. Of course, all the coffee and tea 24/7. I would highly recommend this place to ANYONE looking for a nice place to stay!

Dislikes: 1. The pillows are flat and uncomfortable. 2. The double beds are very small, too tight for two people to sleep in. 3. The bed frame was bent in the middle and mattress was old and uncomfortable. 4. The air conditioner is loud. 5. The shower/toilet area is very crowded. Hard to move around in the shower. 6. Had the do not disturb sign out, housekeeping passed by and never returned. After telling the front desk and a housekeeper the room was available to be cleaned, it never was. Had to ask for fresh towels. 7. The public access areas were as hot as a sauna. 8. No working ice machines. Likes: 1. Free wireless Internet in all areas. 2. In room refrigerator (runs loud), microwave, iron and board, hairdryer. 3. Large selection of TV channels.

My son was hospitalized in Eau Claire, and the staff at the Plaza really helped us through a very difficult time. The rates were great, the room was comfy and quiet, and the hotel was conveniently located near many stores, restaurants and the hospital. God bless the angels at the Plaza!

We went to the plaza for Christmas and we loved it our family got together and the kids had a blast. There was alot of room to play card and put out the food. We had one of our best Christmases. Thank you

I"ve stayed at this hotel three times in the last three years - its a nice hotel - but we've had to wait for our room to get ready each time we come - so that part of the room being ready when we show up would be nice. Otherwise great staff and service!

Stayed over Labor Day 2006. We arrived late in the day with no reservation, and were surprised to find many rooms available. The desk clerk gave us the AAA rate even though I didnt have AAA, and we took a whirlpool room. Room was dirty, with "doesnt anyone clean these rooms?" written in the dust on the TV screen. Bathroom covered in what appeared to be drywall dust. TV remote didnt work. I was exhausted, and couldn't find another available room in town. In Brewski's, the bar, the bartender couldn't make the same drink the same way twice. Next morning, at the breakfast buffet, everything was cold, and the waiter seemed to just started his career that morning. My wife asked if they had flavored cream, he replied "We have this stuff called half and half, but its a liquid. Is that what you mean?" This from a resident of America's Dairyland.

The bar and Restaurant had avargae food choices but the people serving you were very friendly and nice. One good thing is that it has free wireless internet. The room did not have instructions but the 800 number was very helpfull.

We've stayed there a couple of times. Prices are fair and the service is okay. It could be better though. It helps to read the contract when a person reserves a conference room to be sure it's set up the way they want it. Ours wasn't.

The room temperature was extremely hot when we entered the room. We had to turn on the air conditioning, which didn't work that great either. The room was bearable. When we left, we told the front desk about it, but the woman there didn't really seem to care. (Why ask if your not really interested?) Also, the beds seemed rather hard. I hope they fix the thermostat in the room that we stayed in. Otherwise, it's ok, not great but ok.

Stayed there over a weekend in July. It was 90 degrees outside so all of the air conditioners were on. The problem? Each unit faced INTO THE HALLWAY! The hallways were at least 90 degrees. We were sweating every time we had to leave our room. It was horrible! I have never experienced a set up like that. We stayed in a whirlpool suite. We used the whirlpool once and there was a ring of brown dirt that was left around the top of the tub. It was dirty and disgusting. We complained so they knocked off $50. The room was not clean. The floor didn't look like it was vaccumed and there was a substance leaking from the ceiling in the bathroom. The regular shower/tub did not appear to be very clean either. Overall, I would NEVER stay there again. It was disgusting.
