Love This Hotel
By ShortyS, 8/1/08
I was supprised to read all the bad reviews. Me and my mother have stayed at the Fort several times. We Always enjoyed our stay. In fact we even took my grandmother there one year. The staff was awesome the first time we stayed there. ME and my mom had broke down on a Sunday afternoon while visiting Lewisburgh, everybody thats ever been to this town knows that on Sunday afternoons the place turns into a ghost town. NOTHING is open. They made room for us at the Fort after hearing our story because they knew we really needed to stay there. ( we had NO other choice) Of course the hotel was not spotless and there were flaws here and there, but what do you expect from a hotel thats soo old and historic.I think all the people that left these reviews should have saved there selves some time and found a Hilton.

Worst experience
By FLORIAN, 5/12/08
Definately not a place to stay, avoid at all times. No hot water, dirty, bugs, no toilet tissue, first room smelled to high heaven, entry way to office should have been enough discouragement for us. There should be a minus star experience

Not a place to stay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/1/08
The Fort Savannah, known as 'The Fort' by locals, isn't very well acommodated by most standards and the rooms aren't very good. The main purpose that people go here is for the bar down stairs. So travelers, beware, there is a lot of partying that goes down here (most notably on Thursday nights.) You'll find that a hostess usually isn't even in attendance for roomers in the Inn. If you're looking for a good place to stay that is clean and well accomodated, don't come here. If you're looking for a place to have a few beers/cocktails/other drinks, or just flat out looking to get drunk, then this is the perfect place to 'visit'. Otherwise, try the Brier Inn. Or if you're looking to go five star quality, head to White Sulphur for the Greenbrier, West Virginia's most famous resort.

worst hotel we have ever seen
By northernguy, 8/13/07
we stay at over 30 hotels each year, usually stick to basic hotels. this was absolutely the worst place we have ever stayed at. towels smelled like smoke. dirty, moldy, holes in drywall, gap under door. other guests were partying and fighting all nite long. we later found they overcharged us, so we went down the street (north 1 mile) to a 4-star hotel with indoor pool for less $$. not even suitable for animals. staff was rude and unhelpful.

Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid!
By Squrl, 9/30/05
This is the worst place I have ever stayed at in my life. We stayed here during the State Fair and they charged us an inflated rate and the room was absolutely filthy. The carpet was old and worn and hadnt been vacuumed and there was an adult toy laying beside the bed (which had stained sheets). The tv remote didnt work and the bathroom was gross. We complained to the front desk and the desk clerk said she made minimum wage and didnt have to listen to any complaints. This place was a living nitemare!

Stay at Econo Lodge, Lewisburg, WV
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/26/04
The room was run down, a/c was not working properly, the knobs didn't even work. Very expensive for the condition of the room.
