disgusting
Room was filthy and disgusting. It looked like there had been a murder outside our door. Room had dead bugs, cobwebs, bug traps, and smelled disgusting. Paper thin linens and washcloth sized towels. It was 1am, and the internet confirmed there were no hotels within 50 miles available, so not much choice. Took awhile to check in, as the clerk had to count his entire money drawer while we waited, every bill, every quarter, dime, and nickel. (He thankfully skipped the pennies.) I guess taking our credit card would have confused him. As one reviewer suggested, the back of the car probably would have been better. The Snake Club next door was dumping beer bottles all night long. (What the heck is a Snake Club anyways?) Breakfast was a family size box of Frosted Flakes crumbs on a dirty table in the front lobby. The trail to the river is hardly a trail, frequented only by dogs going to the bathroom. The final insult was the next morning when we saw the cleaning person with their cart get off the elevator with a dog, which then went to the bathroom on the soda machine, with not even the slightest of reprimand from its owner. Any positive review of this hotel must be written by the management, as this place needs to be condemned.
What we liked: We survived and can tell the story, our clothes stopped smelling like the room about a week later, we didnt get bedbugs, the bridge is pretty, and the management was actually very nice.
