10 reviews for Red Lion Olympia, Olympia
Returning for the third visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/22/08
I love this hotel and will stay for the Christmas holiday for the second time. Great price on price line and the staff is wonderful and goes out of their way to give you the room you request! The restaurant and bar are outstanding with reasonable prices. Coffee in the room is perfect. The grounds are lovely and the lobby is very festive during Christmas! I am looking forward to another restful stay!

drop prices and better svc
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/11/08
prices need to be down, rooms need to be ready before 3pm, fix up rooms on the ground level toilet leaked, noisy due to a dog show, should of been giving a discount for the lack of sleep and hot water was not easy to come by.

Don't Stay Here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/07/08
Policies at this hotel are not consistent when supporting clubs and other organizations booking this establishment for events. There is a definate issue with truth in advertizing and policies here. Some of the hotel staff booking rooms are rude and insulting, making checkin a very unpleasant experience and taking hours on end of valuable time. The room service was terrible, never enough towels, did not replace cups and glasses, had to call several days in a row. Obviously this hotel does not want repeat business. For those who travel frequently and attend any kind of conferences across the country, I would rate this hotel as a ONE STAR. I will never stay at this establishment again, nor entertain the idea of booking it for any event I would support.

Okay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/07
This hotel is okay. Their service was horrible though. I asked for a box of tissues, they didn't give it to me period. I would have rather stayed at the ameritel inn.

Excellent management
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/26/07
A little difficult to find, but the rooms and hotel were tasteful and clean, the bed was scrumptious (my husband and I are trying to find one comparable to purchase) and the room service was incredibly fast. The restaurant is excellent (fair prices for the caliber of food). In attending conferences, we are given a choice of several hotels in the area, and did not like the Red Lion in Spokane on the river (staffing problems, poor restaurant) so we almost didn't stay here. There was a mixup with our room the 1st night due to a late arrival, and we were transfered to a 1star? hotel. Extremely unhappy, but the hotel manager did everything possible to amend things and we will definitely return.

Comfort when away from home!
By MisMacrl, 03/20/06
I arrived late and the front desk attendant was very nice and very helpful in suggesting locations to eat both for dinner and breakfast. Got right into my room which was very clean and located right on the first floor. The beds were very nice - good linens and comfortable pillows. The shower head in the bathroom was GREAT!! The toiletries were from Bath and Body Works - loved the scents they chose. Flavored creamers in the room - extra nice little touch. Television could've been bigger to fill the gigantic armoire that took up most of the one wall. Room service prices were fair - service was quick and very friendly. Overall I would definitely stay there again. From a business perspective, I would have liked to have seen a larger communications area in the lobby. They had no available printer for use and the computer they had was charged to a credit card per minute. They're located in an area that could/should provide wifi services for free as part of your room charge.

It could use a little work.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/09/06
The room was very nice but we would like to see more choices. The food and the service were a little standoffish and it needs a little improvement.

Quite surprise
By Lucius, 08/14/05
Got a great deal on Priceline and the staff was very accomodating about letting us stay in whatever location we wanted. Olympia is easy to navigate and this place is well situation - away from the crazies, but the city is still accessible with a short drive. I stayed at the Red Lion in Portland and was prepared for the worst after that experience, but we were very happy with our stay here. Even though it was very busy every night, it felt like we had the place to ourselves.

Superb setting
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/21/05
Once found, the check-in staff were freindly and helpful. The huge room had 2 queen size beds and a balcony overlooking the lovely gardens and river. A bus ($1.50) for all day runs from nearby into Olympia, but the city itself had little to commend it. A walk around the lake was smelly due to the large number of dead fish floating on the surface. The food in the restaurant was reasonable value for money with the fish being highly commended. Overall this was a good value hotel, conveniently placed for visiting the Mt. Rainier region

Don't even think to stay there.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/29/05
Customer service is terrible!!! It seems they don’t want to have guests. I needed to make reservations for three rooms. They transferred the phone to center reservation even I was asking in-house reservation. I called back again and was transferred to an answering machine. Called back, the front desk said they were too busy and nobody can take reservation right now. They asked me to call back one hour later. An hour later, called again and was told the person who supposed to take the group reservation went home already. I requested to speak someone else, transferred to the central reservation center again. They didn’t listen until I finished speaking. I spoke to the person at the center reservation, and was told to call the hotel directly, again. Finally the same person who answered before finished listening and then, I was told all hotel rooms were booked. Can’t they just say that in the first place? The other comments are from my friend who stayed the hotel previosly. She lost a ring in the room because a cleaning lady didn't close the door. However, they didn't help her at all. They said that she forgot to close the door.
