It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at Sweethoteldeals. Net They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

Not the best hotel
By ,
When we first got to our room one of the beds were broken, what a way to start your vacation. When maintenance moved the bed there was trash all under it. There were stains all over the carpet and maid service only came one day out of the four days we were there. The bathroom ceiling was leaking all night and it was soaking wet the next morning. Also it smelt like marijuana in the hallways. The soundproof between the room and the hallway was terrible. The restaurant had terrible service as well, the food was not to appetizing, and the menus were just Xeroxed pieces of paper. On the plus side the hotel was right on the beach and every room had a balcony looking over the beach.

Never will I go back
By ,
The service was horrible I guess that is what you get when you go to a 3 star hotel but then not. I stayed at other 3 star hotels and received better service. The fire works they stated we can see from this oceanview room which bumped our rates up $150 was the worst display of fireworks I ever seen. Thuis place is not worth it. You are better off staying on the actual ocean front. You have a better chance at walking intoxicated from the festivities than driving down the police trap which is Shore Drive. There was a road block right next to the hotel how crazy.

GHETTO
By ,
this is the worst "resort" hotel ive ever been too! rooms are dirty and out of date, the noise from the hallways are just way to much to take! the managers of the hotel dont know whats going on in the hotel besides what they are doing at the time, the general manager so unprofessional from attire to communication. thats what happens when your daddy's daughter and get the hand down! would not recommend staying at a 1 star hotel! a mom and pop hotel would have been better stay!

Dream Wedding
By ,
My husband and I had our dream wedding here in the Summer of 2007. Everyone went out of their way to make sure every detail of our special day was in order and that all of our out of town guests were taken care of. We aren't from the area ourselves, but the Conference Center was recommended to us by family that lives down the street. In addition to the normal stress level of planning a wedding, I was doing it from 6 hours away. The staff at the Conference Center made me feel like my wedding was the only thing that they were working on that it was as important to them as it was to me. That really said something to me. In this day and age, it's rare to find that type of customer service. This certainly doesn't mean that all of the planning went smoothly. As a matter of fact, at one point, after a lot of planning, they gave our date away to another couple. However, they were great about fixing that whole snafu and all of the other minor kinks that we ran into. When we checked in a few days before the wedding, we were told we had to wait a few mintues because our room wasn't ready as we had been give a last minute upgrade. What an upgrade...we had the penthouse suite and the only thing that I can say about that is AMAZING! Amazing room, amazing view. They truly gave us our dream wedding. It was totally above and beyond any wedding I could have dreamed of! I can't thank them enough. We love the place. We visit it everytime we're in town and go to "our" corner of the deck where we said our "I do's". If it weren't for the free accomidations with family down the street, we'd stay here on every visit to Va Beach!

Not the hotel for a relaxing weekend
By ,
For starters, I had to pay for internet access in my room (which was a wired connection) while cheaper "budget" hotels offer free wifi in the room and this place names itself a resort? The halls are not quiet. There was bunch of drunk college kids having a party next door. My husband and I wanted to enjoy a candlelit dinner on the balcony with a bottle of wine, but there was no bottle opener in the room. Instead he had to go to the gift shop and purchase one. The pool was full of screaming kids until 11pm. And forget a peaceful walk on the beach, dog owners walk their dogs and dont clean up their messes. The staff is not at all pleasant and my husband and I have decided to not go back again!

Location is Perfect
By ,
The hotel was very nice and clean, it's in a very good location, they have an indoor and outdoor pool, my balcony in my room overlooked the beach, however I was there on a company trip and my room was already paid for. The clerk asked for my credit card incase of accidentials, and she charged my card for the entire fee of the room, the whole time I was there my money was tied up with the hotel and they kept telling me it was nothing they could do. I asked the young lady, if you are holding the card for accidentials why would you charge my entire fee of my room to my card when it was a Corporate account, and then could not reverse it? They need to come up with a better policy or the proper staffing! After I returned home from my trip, my money was refunded!

Wouldn't stay at again
By ,
Anybody who is staying at this hotel for the summer must read this review first before actually staying there. This was what we had encountered during our stay. When we first arrived to the hotel, it looked a little old and worn on the outside. I was able to check in with my two kids and wife at around 12:30 and go up to our room. We got to our room on the fifth floor and at first the room seemed fine. The room did lack some cleanliness, I don't think they use febreeze or some other deodorizer to freshen the air. The carpet looked fairly new, but the dining room chairs looked like they have been there since the hotel opened (21 years ago). One of the chairs was broken and could not be fixed. The kitchen was literally part of the living room (no half wall or bar) so the kitchen was useless. They didn't provide us with silverware or plates and cups. You had to go down to the restaurant to get them at $20.00 ?!?! What place charges you to get silverware for only a few nights. The balcony door would not close all the way and the balcony railings seemed old too. The view was of a parking deck and the pool and with a limited view of the bay. The beds weren't the most comfortable I've slept on before. My biggest problem was that the beds were near the front door. Day and especially night you could hear every footstep and every tiny whisper going through the hall. It would be best that they soundproof the doors since the room layout can't be changed. The hallways were very dim and looked old. Also, there were room service trays left out one afternoon and were still there the next afternoon. The pool looked old too and had a lot of sand making it not very clean. The restaurant was very expensive, especially at dinner time. Buying something from McDonalds next to the hotel was about 75% cheaper that the restaurant. The main positive point was that the staff was nice and friendly. To summarize it up, the whole building is old and needs to be remodeled. I would recommend that you stay at the Four Sails Hotel at 33rd Street at the Oceanfront. The suites there are very clean, great balcony views of the ocean, exclusive amenities, and cheaper restaurant. I don't think it would be worth you pay $225.00 a night for a place like this. It would be best that you stay on the oceanfront and leave this place alone.
