The best of old time southern hospitality
By Jill, 08/28/09
The best asset The Jefferson has is its' employees. EVERYONE went out of their way to be kind, tolerant and helpful.Sure, the building is breathtaking and packed with history, but people like that are hard to find.We were driven around like queens.I can't find my way around in a paper bag. After consulting with the staff, we planned our day and at the touch of my cell phone we were driven everywhere we wanted to be. It was free' but you will want to tip Gibson generously because he is really funny...sort of like a free comedy club. They even laughed at our jokes! With the free gift card and transportation...I do not believe there is a better value in Richmond...we also qualified for free valet parking. Only one problem...I came home the house is a mess, I still can't find my way around, and is is hard to cram my car in my tiny driveway...you spoiled me!

Overpriced!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/08/09
This was the most overpriced hotel we've ever been to and we travel the world. We have no problem paying for 5 star hotels, but you should get what you pay for! The beds were horrible, the rooms were really outdated, and the room service menu was very limited as we had arrived back late- even if these prices were the same as a Holiday Inn, I'd go to a Holiday Inn! Very nice people, terribly overpriced, outdated, place to get a terrible night's sleep!

Coming from Vegas
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/08/08
Living in Vegas (originally from Richmond) I am probably a little harder to please than the average guest. I have to give the STAFF and SERVICE... 5 stars all the way from check in to check out!! My wife and I stayed for 1 night before heading back home to Vegas. We left at 430 in the morning and the staff was just as pleasant as when we checked in. The hotel as a whole is beaufiful. I was not impressed with the room and the food was good for Richmonds standard but again I'm from Vegas and hospitality is what I do. Overall it was a nice stay but not worth the money.

Always Magnificent!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/07
We went for the Sunday champagne brunch to celebrate a special birthday with friends. Having been to the Sunday brunch in the past, I knew what to expect, although our guests did not. Needless to say that everything was incredible - the service, the presentation of the food, the sumptuous menu. There is no way to try everything, even though you would like to. They skimp on nothing - everything is first class. Don't miss it if you visit Richmond, especially at Christmastime when the place is decorated with style and elegance. Plan ahead because they sell out quickly during the holidays.

Bring Your Own Food
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/07
A wonderful, beautiful, romantic hotel. But don't order room service. Breakfast: One very small muffin, one small bagel, two coffees and an orange juice: $30.00 They take advantage of the fact that you can't leave the hotel on foot without fear. The hotel is next to a homeless shelter and the neighborhood gets worse from there.

Yes, it's all that
By Fili, 10/23/06
For a second year, I held an event for 400 guests at the Jefferson Hotel Grand Ballroom. Once again, I was not disappointed, from the sales team, to the banquet manager, to the front desk staff, to the banquet servers, to the technical assistant, I felt like my needs were met at every turn. As for the rooms, the luxurious draperies, the marble floors and countertops in the bathroom, the down comforters, the full-size closet, and the free internet service made for a home away from home. No need to mention the luxurious foyers, courtyards and every other beautiful areas of the hotel. As long as I have my event in Richmond, I will continue to use the Jefferson Hotel.

Highly Recommend!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/06
Beautiful, historic hotel with excellent service--helpful and courteous without being obtrusive. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Exceptional health/work-out facilities. Great food. Location is not the best for walking but with a car is quite adequate.

Insatiable
By Mr.Austin, 02/25/06
At almost $200 a night, The Jefferson Hotel Located in the heart of Richmond, VA is a nice place to take that special someone. Very Clean and Welcoming. The staff give you the feeling of royalty. My only negative thought is its location, surrounded by construction and by Virginia Commonwealth University buildings. But, you don't even remember all that once inside.
