Will never stay again!!
By justtryingtohelp, 10/18/09
You know how people talk about roach motels....well this is it! My first room had roaches in the bathroom. I went to tell the front desk and she just moved me to the room right next to it. In that bathroom there were dead bugs. There was not a dead bolt on the door the the hinges looked like they were going to fall right off. I asked to be moved to another room. This one smelled like mildew. I had also asked for a late check out due to an interview I had the next morning. The offered me 30 extra minutes. With me being a Choice Hotel member and from out of town I felt that they could have done better. What is the point of being a memeber if you do not have any benefits? They also charge you for the safe in the room even if you do not use it. Do not stay here. There is a Hampton Inn down the street!!!

We will stay there Again
By Yahoo User, 05/19/09
My Wife and I were on our way to Florida and we wanted to use the Auto Train. The hotel is conveniently located near the station. We forgot our cell phone in the room and we could not go back. We called the hotel and the manager, Mr. Farage caught with us at the station and gave us the phone himself. I thought that was very kind. Will come back. Also Linda the Housekeeping Manager is very nice and gave us helping tips. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Wish we had more items for breakfast but coffee was great and pastry was fresh. Front Desk girls were charming and helful. We had a good experience overall

The Best Value for my Dollar
By Yahoo User, 05/19/09
I am Military relocating to the area and I found this hotel that is very reasonable in Price. Clean rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. I think the manager is retired Military too and he runs operations this way. Though the building is old but very well maintained. I recommend for basic reasonable accommodation.

Very Disappointed
By DanielA, 06/07/08
This hotel needs much renovation. The bathroom with toilet and tub is very cramped space w/little room. Sink and vanity are in ok shape. Vanity very worn. Ineffective exhaust fan in tub area and deteriorating tiles and tub. Our room had strange odor. We weren't able to pinpoint source of odor. The blanket and bedspread on one bed had an odor to it also. Room walls had peeling wallpaper in areas and lots of black scrapes on the main door. For the money we payed, we did not expect such shabby condition.

easy access, a little worn down
By Steven W, 09/14/06
very simple, basic hotel. The outside and common areas are a bit run down and dirty. For example, the carpet runners in the hall have "trails" on them like a college dorm. Hotel seems to be the place of choice for traveling contractors and construction workers. The rooms however were very clean and well maintained despite what the outside looked like. The air conditioner buzzed and vibrated loudly. There's a full channel lineup from the local cable-TV service. There's a really fast wireless internet connection that is free, so bring your laptop! The breakfast was a bit lacking...just a few doughnuts, toast and some coffee. Being near busy highways, the noise factor can be an issue on front-facing rooms. Within walking distance is cracker barrel, and a Waffle House...better to go there for breakfast! Be prepared for language barrier issues when conversing with the front desk clerks.
