Bennington Motor Inn, Bennington

After reserving two nights for a mountain veiw room, that said pets were allowed but NOTHING about extra charge[$10.00} on my reservation, I arrive in Bennington, ...thinking I'm going to be staying outside a small village in a private owned motel. The picture shows a nice place with grass and trees. I drive up to the motel and the grass belongs to the motel next door..there is only a very small parking lot..all paved, with fake flowers everywhere. It is in=town on the highway with trucks going by. Instead of a mt. veiw, there is a 24 hr gas station all lighted up. The quaint thing is that it has an old fashion bell that goes off everytime a car drives in....not so cute at 6:00 in the morning. The room was so stuffy and smelling of smoke that my eyes were red and swollen.....The owner would not let me cancel the second day. Autum in VT !! oh well, Maybe next time, I wait till I see the place..There are plenty of very nice motels in the area that had vacancies...

While the room was clean enough, the air conditioner smelled when turned on. Upon looking inside to see if it needed a new filter, I noted that the air conditioner had apparently been run (for years) without a filter, even though there was a clean filter in it at this time. The smell was awful and we did not operate it. We remained warm all night with the windows open. Will not return.

The room we stayed in was so lovely and clean! Everything was spotless. I felt very comfortable staying here. And the location is perfect - close to the town center and yet not too noisy. I can't recommend it more highly. I have just booked for another stay!

We just completed our second stay at the Bennington Motor Inn. Once again superior service and very clean rooms. When you stay here, you become part of Bennington. An ideal location that doesn't place you on a service road or a highway. A short walk and you are in the heart of the greatest town in Vermont and located to explore Manchester, Willmington, and Brattleboro. All at a reasonaable price. We've strongly recommended the Bennington Motor Inn to friend, and they have agreed with our assessment--it's the best buy in Bennington!

There are very few accomodations near downtown Bennington-but this is the best! The rooms are very clean and the rates are reasonable. Plus if you are a car buff, it's located across from the Hemmings Motor News. The owners work very hard to extend a welcome. Try it once, and you'll come back!
