Big Improvements but, can they make thier money back?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/08
I have stayed at the Rustic Inn for the last five years. The rooms were old and run down the beds were horrible and the Ac made more noise than a vw bug. It is the only room in town for less than a hundred bucks a night. When we checked in I was greeted by Zach, the new manager. Zach had told us that we would be surprised. We were lost they were completely different. to say the new owner had put some much needed tlc in is a understatement. The construction workers stripped the rooms down to the cement. There was a large fridge(not your normal hotel fridge) and a Beautiful oak desk. Double stanless steel sinks with a full set of kitchen cabinets in each room. The new air conditioner Heater unit was so quite I didn't realize it was on untill I went to turn it off. The other new additions are carpet, tile mattresses 27" T.V, paint and closets? It is designed for longer visits to moab but is perfect to stop in and get some rest before another day of travel. There are a few Questions I had after my visit. Can they overcome the reputation of poor quality and How are they going to make their money back after all they invested for less than a 100 bucks a night per room. Zach's answer was simple. "I will do my part. if you do yours."

It wasn't that great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/08
When we arrived, the desk clerk had gone home and left our room key in an envelope taped to the door of the office. When we entered the parking lot, I noticed quite a bit of activity for eleven o'clock at night. There were people milling about and a guy had his dog that stayed in the hotel room with him. I was a little frightened to stay there. Even though the hotel is only a block away from Main Street, the motel seemed to be in a seedy part of town. The room was reasonably clean and the TV was nice. The breakfast they offered was nothing more than bagles cut in half in a domed server. I wouldn't reserve a room there again, nor would I suggest it to another person.

Bad experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/06
I have never stayed at dirtier looking place on the inside. We had a two night stay reserved. However, after the first night, we left because the walls, carpets, furniture and shower made us cringe due to the dirt. It was an embarrassment to have my brother from Chicago be witness to Moab's "finest."

Really bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/05
We did not get to our hotel until 9:30 pm with 4 adults and 4 small children or we would have started looking for another place to stay. Our room had dirty, stained and faded carpet. The room smelled of urine and we found out why. There was a huge stain on the bedspread! The blankets had cigarette burns. The shower did not work well. The overall look was rundown and old. Now old has it's charm, but this did not. We paid $70 a night for this room. One would expect the room to at least be clean even if it is old!
