Horrible experience
By ,
The website doesn't mention that parking is $10 to $12 a night in addition to the cost of the room. They only mentioned the charge for parking at check-in and only because I asked about it. The day we were there they told us the elevator was not working, but we could get some help with our bags (for a charge of course). Internet is not free. No free breakfast. Front desk staff were rude and uncaring. When we finally got to our room the key would not work. It took about 30 minutes of trying before they finally gave up and gave us another room. The rooms are about the size of a roach motel. It smelled musty and old. Don't expect to see what is on the website. They also charged us an additional $25 on our credit card that they said was for "incidentals". We did not use the internet or any other "incidentals", but were charged anyway. If you are looking for a really horrible and disappointing experience stay here. We will never do it again.

Caution!!!
By ,
Watch out for extra charges for Valet Service. They told me one thing and charge me MORE. The rooms are SMALL but the beds are good. I will not go back to the Peery when I go to Salt Lake.

Historical just means old!
By ,
Historical just means old! This is NOT a 3 star hotel, a 2 ½ star at best. Very small rooms, especially the bathroom. Funny smell in room and lobby areas. $20 extra charge from standard room to room with two beds. The parking will cost you $17.00 a day and is an uncovered parking area. The hotel pictures online are very deceiving. The view from the window was at another building between an alley way. Also, no pool or any realistic or modern amenities. On the plus side, the bed was extremely comfortable although could barely fit in the small room. The mall is within walking distance just past the homeless shelter and there are many close restaurants. I think I will stick with more modern hotels and not use any online name your own price sites anymore until they remove this hotel from their 3 star rating.

Affordable historic accomodations
By ,
Beautiful and historic building. The rooms were somewhat small but well decorated; the bathroom was almost the same size as the room. The best parts were the tempurpedic mattress and the free starbucks coffee in the lobby.

LOVE it!
By ,
WE have stayed several times at the Peery. We love it. This is not a place to bring the kids. They do not have a pool. They have showers and the bathrooms tend to feel like a closet, but the furnishings are lovely. I felt transported to a different place and time. I felt pampered. We have styed for anniversaries and just to getaway and also we have stayed with the whole family at Christmas time. Our first stay was in a suite. If you are there for a romantic getaway then get the suite otherwise a regular room will do. Our stay at Christmas was lovely. The stair case was lined with poinsettias and was so striking I took our family picture there. If you want a quite non commercial retreat then the Peery is for you.

Old World Charm with Modern Conveniences
By ,
My husband and I found this hotel on the National Register of Historical Places website, we were amazed to learn that this hotel was built in 1910 and is the only hotel in utah on the historic register that is still operating as a hotel. Upon arriving to the hotel we were welcomed by the Bellman, I think his name was Joe. He assisted us with our luggage and then offered some suggestions for dinner. The guestroom was quaint but comfortable, we really enjoyed the high ceilings and antique furniture. My husband isn't a coffee drinker, but I enjoyed the in room Starbucks coffee. Also the Bath robes & Bath and Body works amenities were nice too. We return to Salt Lake City twice a year for LDS General Conference and we are surely going to make the Peery Hotel our new tradition.

What a charmer
By ,
I love the location and the way they have renovated the hotel. It is so charming, and you feel like you are a world away. I think the staff is eceptional, and I am returning to stay at the Perry again this year for Christmas. This place is a bargain and I much prefer it over some chain.

Great Value
By ,
We just got back from vacation and wanted to mention how great this hotel was. The people were incredibly nice and the manager sattalke with us during the reception. Our room was quite small but the hotel is 100 years old. This is a great place. Myron and wife Cleo
