If you want to stay in a hotel for business or pleasure this is it. Best stay in a hotel I have ever experienced, and I am in the hospitality business.

Felt like visiting royalty
By Deborah, 10/2/07
The service was first rate from time of pick up at the airport by the free shuttle until I was delivered back to the airport for departure. The grounds are wonderfully groomed. The lobby was comfortable and beautiful at the same time. The shops had an upscale boutique feel. I never made it to the pool! The breakfast buffet was amazing. I am sorry I did not try it until my last morning there, but my waistline thanks me! The coffee shop service was adequate and the food filling. Room service was prompt. They made an error with my paper selection and quickly corrected it. I only had breakfast at the hotel, prefering to eat my dinners downtown nearer the Salt Palace. I did not rent a car while there, the free tram being almost right outside the hotel. It was also a quiet and safe place to walk just as long as you did not stray to far west of the Temple. I did one afternoon and discovered the location of the soup kitchen and homeless shelter. I was approached a few times for a hand out of money, but they quickly moved on. The rooms were beyond my expectations. The Garden soak tub was a gift after a day of traversing the Salt Palace during a convention. The powder room area outside the bathroom was a nice touch. The beds were very comfortable and the room beautifully decorated. I saw another reviewer say the furniture looked old. It did...like fine cared for antiques. I would love to own the armoire, it was so well designed. Indulge in the turn down service. It is free of charge, and I came back to a room softly lit and the radio turned to music. Chocolates were on the turned down bed and a robe was draped across the blanket. If I ever return to Salt Lake City, this is the place I will stay at. There appeared to be other Little America's nationwide and I would consider them as well. The Grand America was just across the street, but I could not ask for more than what I had. This hotel was not one that my convention negotiated for a block of rooms, but I saw some of the rooms at other hotels that fellow convention attendees had. I had the much better deal!

Not so great for business travel
By snapple, 7/11/07
If you're used to staying at Hiltons or Marriotts then I would NOT recommend this hotel. I booked this hotel based on it being 4 stars and high ratings on Yahoo. Thought it was going to be nicer than it was. Too many kids, rooms look old, lobby was stinky. I later learned- a lot of the LDS people like this hotel, and it fits their "idea" of a nice hotel. BUT- If you are travelling from out of town, and used to nice hotels, on business, you'd be better off at a mainstream hotel. I was fooled by the high ratings on Yahoo, but I think it was a lot of locals who praise the "little america." Service was nice, but definately not worthy of a perfect 10 rating!

Wanting to return again
By Lois, 5/18/07
The room was big, nicer than expected, the heated swimming pool with view of mountains was wounderful, and spa area, and shopping rivaled a plush casino. Resturant area and food was great.

Better than I expected
By Caleb, 3/8/07
Stayed in the Garden, which is not connected to the main hotel. The rooms are fairly large with a balcony. The bathroom was just o.k but it was nice to have a separate sink outside the bathroom. Room was clean. I will stay here again if I return to SLC.

Don't be fooled, many rooms are not 4 star!
By DK, 11/16/06
Use caution when booking this hotel. The website says its a 4 star hotel, but many of the rooms are not in the main hotel, but are the premises and are basically motel 6 like rooms with a spruced up interior. When its raining or snowing you get to walk across the large parking lot and either get wet or freeze. These rooms are also close to the road so you hear the traffic noise. Last, the maids also ignore the do not disturb signs so when you do get to sleep, they will wake you up. But to be fair they will apologize by saying sorry. One last warning, the beds have feather pillows and comforters, which will trigger your allergies, the hotel will replace these with hypo-allegenic bedding if you ask them.

Suprisingly nice & clean
By Roy M, 7/2/06
Date of visit was third week in May 2006. Very nice hotel and very economical (although I may've received convention rates). Beautiful all the way around. The would be a great hotel for the family. Some rooms on first floor are a little difficult to get to, so mention this if you have trouble walking or carrying luggage and they'll give you a room that's a bit more accessable. Bring your walking shoes because SLC is a nice town for long walks. Hotel location is good - right near free train that shuttles you to Temple Area & huge shopping mall. Restaurant and bar in hotel is outstanding (esp. the beautiful blonde that works in the lounge!) Meals are slightly higher as is common in hotel restaurants, but quality is A1. Excellent breakfast buffet in the a.m. Wonderful, clean duel indoor/outdoor swimming pool and workout area with extended hours. I would absolutely recommend this for those visiting SLC for the 1st time. Also recommended for families. Although I was visiting on business/convention, I was very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to return for a vacation. Even the tap water tastes clean at this hotel!

We love Little America
By LindaW, 2/25/06
We live locally, about an hour south of S.L. on 5 acres in the mountains. But ocassionally we need a little city life, so we head to Little America with our 2 grandsons. The staff is great with kids! We ride the trax, go to a show or Jazz game, swim in the indoor-out door pool, hit Crown Burger and back to the pool or hot tub. It is SO much better than Disneyland. Much cheaper, too.

The best bed i ever slept in
The complex was great. The beds were awesome. Although i never looked at who made them,I still wonder to this day what kind of mattresses they used. I stayed there over 5 years ago and never forgot how great a nights sleep could be. Wondering if you can foward me the matteress info to me. The stay was great. I would return and stay there.
