Ambassador Hotel Amarillo, Amarillo

The hotel was nice. I stayed there for 3 days and enjoyed it. The pool was really nice, clean and enjoyable. The atrium provided a nice area to sit with a glass of wine. We didn't eat at the hotel however from what I saw as I walked around the food looked good. Prices were certainly reasonable. Didn't spend a lot of time in my room as we were visiting family but the time I spent in it was nice. Room was clean. No dirty towels or low hanging closet rods in my room as I read in the other reviews. I am glad I didn't read the reviews before I went as I'm not sure I would have stayed there. But I am glad I stayed as it was a very nice experience not at all what I'm seeing described by my fellow travelers. As I walked around the hotel I certainly didn't witness anyone complaining or not acting as they were upset at their surroundings. I saw a few dogs so they are dog friendly. I know everyone's tastes are different but I'd definitely stay here again and I give them a gold star.

Last year we chose to stay at Ambassador Hotel while passing through on our way to skiing in New Mexico. Of course, for this year's annual trek, we returned to the best Amarillo hotel. They are offering these awesome ski rates. You do have to call the hotel directly, but it is well worth it. Our family was able to get a rate under $90. My wallet loved that. Even better, the hotel now offers a complimentary hot breakfast buffet, so nice when you have hungry teenagers. The staff was as friendly as we remembered, and were able to place us in the same type of deluxe room as our last stay. The room was large and comfortable. Our kids remembered the flat screen television and were glad to see it again! This family friendly Amarillo hotel has an indoor pool which is always a plus when traveling with your kids. We highly recommend the Ambassador Hotel in Amarillo, and look forward to staying there again in 2011!

If you are in Amarillo and need a nice room, Ambassador Hotel is the one!  I have stayed here several times, and this hotel is great for a business traveler.    The rooms are spacious and always exceptionally clean.  The staff is very friendly and helpful.  Free high speed internet makes it easy to get work done while away.   The location is great and close to restaurants.   I travel for a living and after a while every hotel looks alike.  But every now and then, you stumble into a place that reminds you about the sheer joy of traveling -- and Ambassador Hotel is most definitely one of those places. Enjoy!

We’ve had enough of this staycation stuff, we just had to pack up and get out of town. So my husband and I decided to take our two kids to Texas in our version of the Griswald’s Family Vacation. One of our stops was at the lovely Ambassador Hotel located in Amarillo. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Being a little road tired we checked in and let the kids swim in their great indoor pool. We loved that the hotel had a TGI Friday’s, it was just right for this family of four. After dinner, the kids took another dip in the pool. The front desk staff took great care of us, and offered suggestions for area activities that our kiddos would enjoy. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and they have the best cooked-to-order pancakes! The rooms are very comfortable, exceptionally clean and the hotel is well maintained. The manager and all the staff obviously care about the hotel and the guests that occupy it. The Ambassador Hotel is truly southern hospitality at its finest – and in little ‘ole Amarillo. Who would have guessed!

My wife and I stayed one night at the Ambassador Hotel due to repairs being done on our house here locally in Amarillo. This hotel has alot to offer -- affordable rates, a great indoor pool, location and accessibility to the interstate, and large clean comfortable rooms. However, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff is the most memorable amenity to mention. There was also a business center available with internet access. This was extremely helpful as we were able to catch up with email. In the morning, we enjoyed the wonderful breakfast buffet in their Heritage Park restaurant before heading back home. If you ever have to be displaced because of home repairs, the Ambassador Hotel has so many pluses. We would certainly stay again, and will recommend to other folks that are looking for a great hotel in Amarillo.

I was at a loss for a night's stay while driving through Amarillo. As I drove through town, I saw the Ambassador Hotel and pulled in. I found it to be above average and quiet. The staff was very courteous and polite. The room was clean and welcoming. And the bed and pillows were the most comfortable I've experienced in my many travels. I had no problems sleeping through the night. The Ambassador Hotel is most likely the nicest hotel in Amarillo. As a lone female I felt safe in this hotel. I even stayed here again on the way back

Stayed at the Ambassador Hotel-Amarillo when I went to visit my daughter at college. She and two friends came and stayed with me, and all were pleased. Arrived about 10 pm on Friday night and was greeted very warmly by the staff. Knowing I would need a room large enough for four, I booked one of the suites that are located on their Concierge Level. Our suite was very spacious and well-appointed. The girls had a separate bedroom with double beds and we so enjoyed having a separate living area to hang out in. One evening we decided to stay in, watch movies, and order room service. It is my understanding that the TGI Friday’s at the hotel takes care of their room service orders. They did a great job and we were all full and happy. We ate breakfast at Heritage Park and it was wonderful. The cooked-to-order omelet was fresh and delicious, as were the other bountiful selections. Visits to the fitness center were a must after indulging at breakfast. The girls loved the fitness center and indoor whirlpool. Both mornings we encountered housekeeping staff as we walked to breakfast and they were very cheerful and friendly. The Ambassador Hotel is outstanding, and the location is convenient to the airport. Next time I visit, I will not need to rent a car because they offer a free shuttle from the airport. With three years left of college, you can guess where I’m going to stay when I come back to Amarillo to visit my daughter-The Ambassador Hotel!

We went to the Ambassador Hotel in Amarillo for the wedding of my sister. What a great experience! I even got to help her with some of the planning, and the staff was great to work with. The wedding was flawless from beginning to end, and the food was excellent. The guestrooms for those of us who stayed were quite spacious and comfortable. Our other family and friends were really happy with their rooms and the kind service we received. While Amarillo had other interesting options, like wedding halls and such, going with a hotel is so much better. Everyone gets to stay there, we were all together, you can just roll up to your room after the wedding and never have to get in a car. We all got to hang out together, and it was really easy and convenient to have everything in one place. We highly recommend a wedding there, or even just an overnight stay. Thanks to everyone.

The internet service and tv and both horrible, the bathrooms are dirty and use drinking glasses which i'm sure are not cleaned properly. FYI don't use the drinking glasses or make coffee in your room unless you want the same towel that they tried to clean the floor with cleaning your drinking/coffee pot.

The room smelled like wet dog and urine, the service is horrible, breakfast is disgusting and the bathroom is small and very un-clean! The pool area was so nasty!! They front desk people screwed up my credit card payment and I was charged twice, still working that out with them.
