Summit Inn Hotel and Suites, San Marcos

This place is horrible. It's dirty, it smells, the AC doesn't work, and I just found blood in the bathroom. Please, don't come here. Stay away. It's horrible.

I ask when we checkd in if the rooms were clean. We were assured that house keepping had been busy all day getting the rooms ready for our party of about 50. ( We were there for the volly ball State tournament) The house keeper must have gone to sleep. The rooms were flat FILTHY The couch was so dirty I wouldnt even set my bag on it! I sure didnt walk on the floor with out shoes or take a bath in the nasty bath room. The smoke detector hung from the wires not even hooked up nor was there a sprinkler system. Another in our party had RATS in the room.! Two big holes in the outside door allowed the rats to come in or out. The bath room flooded not the tub, the floor. The bed had only the bottom sheet. The resident couldnt get front dest to answer to bring top sheets and blankets for the nite. This place should be turned to the health department and closed until it is cleaned up. Thank goodness we only had to stay 1 night at the unbelievable rate of $130.00 one would say, it had been jacked up to this unbelievable rate due to the tourniments that weekend. I must say it was an experience!! Not one I would want to go through again. I would NEVER go back! It is old and a DUMP! Mu advice---If you cant find a room, sleep in the car in a Wal Mart parking lot! The only thing it has going for it is the location. Right on the freeway and easy to get to.

Dirty is the best way to describe this place,from the walls to the floors.The place is old but that doesn't mean it has to be dirty. The floor wasn't vaccumed, a layer of grime has on top of the airconditioner.The walls and floor in the bathroom had dirt running down them. Light bulbs were missing. Maybe they don't want you to see the dirt. Room keys stopped working.Good news, no bugs and the sheets were clean. TV worked but no HBO or WIFI as advertised.I think we paid way too much for this dirt bag.Stay somewhere else!

This place had the only vacancy around so it was our only choice. The sheets were clean and the furnishings were newer. However, everything else was dirty. The walls, doors, carpet, remote control, lamps...everything was gross. The bathroom and vanity hadn't been cleaned in a while. The shower was so dirty I wouldn't let my kids shower or even walk on the bathroom floor. The sink was filthy. Two lamps were missing bulbs and the remote control was missing buttons. I told the front desk and she only said "sorry about that". Don't stay here, or if you do bring a can of Lysol! We will not ever go back.

The room smelled of urine, mold in the bathroom, electrical outletface plate broken,dead bugs, door cracked,black tape used to hide screw on inside door knob, light fixtures on wall loose, walls dirty, room smelled like cig smoke(our room was non smoking), vanity cracked, pool area was disgusting (no net to scoop cig.butts out of water), water in pool murky, floating dead bugs in pool and pool furniture was old and broken. The A/C unit did not work properly once on high the unit would freeze up and then expell water out of grate onto floor. There was excessive water standing inside of unit, which dripped onto floor causing the dirty carpet to smell. If you decide to stay and utilize the pool be careful, one of the ladders has broken away from the side of the pool. While using the small microwave my 6 year old son found a ** ROACH** crawling in the area which displays the time. When we first arrived my son amused himself by chasing live crickets which he found along the baseboards of the room. I should have read the reviews before choosing this place to stay at. New Management must not be working at this place. The service was great, greeted with a smile. You pay for what you get here. I recommend this place to people who wish to save money as long as they don't mind sleeping and eating with bugs. I can not blame the cleaning crew for the way the room was when they work in a place like this. Instead of spending all the money on the reception area maybe it should have been devide with some money going towards the rooms. My room number was 118. I will not stay at this place again.

The place has been purchased and renamed and even if the Hilton Family purchased this, I would stay here. The rooms are OLD, the bathroom stinks of urine, the pool is DISGUSTING!! The pool is falling apart at the bottom and until you jump in and start walking around, you won't notice. I could tell there was something off just by looking at the water, but I was hoping to be paranoid since my kids were already in. The jacuzzi is disgusting as well. They don't even have a net to try and clean out the nasty bugs that are inside the pool!! The rooms are very different what is in the pictures. I don't even know where they got these pictures from, maybe another website. I think it was the owner that decided to knock lightly on our door and use his key to see if we were staying over!! It's a good thing that I was right by the door and dressed because that was very unprofessional and not hospitable at all!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

This one tops the list on worst motel stays ever. We travel quite often on business so we have seen our share of one star lodgings. This stay was arranged by the folks employing us for 3 nights. After 2 nights, we checked out and paid for a room in Kyle. The people in the room next door were apparently running a brothel... all night long. The a/c froze up and quit working. The room was dirty. The pool was green and we heard gun shots during the DAY. Stay clear of this place. Changing the name every 2 weeks cannot even help this joint. I would not stay here again if you paid me. BAD BAD BAD!!

It 's very nasty and the room didn't even have the trash empy. No Bedspread. There was no towels and wash cloths. Was going to call the desk and the phone didn't even work.

The room smelled musty, the fridge had stains in it. the microwave was dirty. My sheets smelled of bleach . the carpetwas stained. The tv had foul language written on it with a marker. The handtowels had deep stains. Who manages this place. The pool is full of leaves. not to mention no towels in the fitness room.

Lower rates. New management doing a great job! I have been there before and will continue my visits there!! New Staff very polite . Cleaner rooms. and all for a great lower rate. My room was clean and smelled fresh.
