Good, but could be better
First off, let me boast about the positives. The location was great! Our family walked to dinner on the riverwalk every night and there's tons of things in the area to keep you occupied. We visited the bakery daily and I recommend their sandwiches and soup. Super yum! Barron's restaurant was okay, but didn't care too much for their main entree's on the buffet, but they had rockin' desserts. Friendly staff and housekeeping and the lobby is a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, as great as this hotel is, there were some huge downfalls that will make me reconsider staying here.
The valet is overpriced and you can park in one of the many garages in the area across the street. Valet is $23 a day (?), but we paid $8 across the street. This isn't a deal breaker for me, but be aware that there are better parking options in the area. The room: for as much as we paid for 4 nights, I'd expect something a bit cleaner looking. The carpet looked old and dirty and the beds weren't really that comfortable. The bathrooms were extremely small and the sink area was tiny, as well, making it hard to do makeup, hair, etc. I think they could maintain the old beauty of this hotel easily, but still manage to update some key elements. I was disappointed that it didn't have complimentary wifi, either. If I'm paying a good chunk of money for a classy hotel, I don't want to be nickle and dimed to death. Keep in mind, too that the location is NOISY! Every night we could hear yelling, hollering, sirens and garbage trucks which made it hard for a good night's sleep.
I'm not sure if I'd stay here again. Convenient it is, but I might explore other options in the area next time.
