Hotel from hell...

Dated, tacky, tatty... This place had my wife close to tears. The entry was ominous - damaged polystyrene ceiling tiles and a tacky faux-renaissance statue, but the room was a nightmare. Wall paper starting to peal off walls, mould around door frame, nasty piece of board with protruding nails boarding up the window over the door - also compete with cob-webs, badly chipped paint on bathroom door, room faced directly onto street and traffic noise was very audible, didn´t feel safe... we booked the room on HotWire.com as comparable with a Holiday Inn Express - comparable with Bates Motel would be more like it. Clutter in the garden area outside. Staff were useless as were HotWire.com - they were useless and said they´d checked it 2 weeks ago and was fine. I wasn´t expecting 5 star luxury but this was not acceptable, especially at the price. We left without staying the night.
