Good Value as long as you don't buy a coke.

I booked my room via hotwire, and considering the $50 I spent to stay here, I can't really complain. Good value. The location is really irrelavent to me as we were traveling on I-40 and just needed a place to stay.
This place reminds me of what a really cool hotel was when I was 8 years old. Unfortunately, in some respects, the hotel probably ahsn't changed much since then! It has a feeling of vacancy and a former family "has been."
The rooms have been very recently renovated. Our room was clean: The bedding seemed brand new along with the carpet. Room amenities were average, but clean. Outside of the room, however, the hotel wrenches you into the past with a dim, depresing atmosphere. The large atrium where the pool and arcade games are situated is nifty -- played a game of Ms. Pacman.
I was quite irritated when I purchased some drinks, however. I bought a soft drink from the bar and paid over $2 for a can. Thinking I would do better at the vending machine, I later paid the required $2 there for a 16oz bottle.
It looks like they trying to make this a nice hotel again. We'll see. The rooms are comfortable and clean.
