It was great!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/26/08
I found myself stranded in Hosuton and had nowhere to go. I had tried other hotels, but all were booked. So I decided on the Four Seasons. It was great, staff friendly and nice. A bit expensive but it was worth it.

MUST AVOID - Four Seasons Houston
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/15/08
This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. After choosing the Four Seasons hotel because of past excellent FS experiences (outside of Houston), we booked a room for the weekend. We looked forward to having our toddler in the pool (which was advertised as being open on the website and in our confirm letter.) Upon arrival, we were told the pool was closed. We were given a room which had been freshly painted. Four hours later, I was downstairs in the lobby, suffering from a massive migraine, burning eyes and lips and difficulty breathing, and asking for a new room. I packed up the room, moved my wife and baby into the new room and stared at the ceiling for the next 5 hours while my headache slowly faded. Needless to say, I was a zombie for the rest of the weekend, exhausted and drained. The room service food was an abomination. Macaroni and cheese for our toddler which had been sitting out for an extended period of time (there was a crusty 'skin' on the food), same with my spaghetti and chicken. My wife's four cheese pizza was hot and fresh, but unfortunately it was a pepperoni pizza which they delivered. With gratuity (already included) this disgusting "meal" cost $62.00. The childproofing service offered amounted to ratty rubber bumpers stuck on the tables with balled up duct tape, which no longer was sticky from repeated use. All the bumpers were on the floor by the evening. On checkout we were charged for "Minibar" despite the fact that all minibar items are removed for childproof-requested rooms. Housekeeping never came on Saturday. So we called at 5pm. And again at 8:30 pm. A chambermaid with attitude and a purse on her shoulder showed up with some towels. Maybe that's SOP at Motel 8, but not the sort of experience you should have at a FS hotel. The room itself was an ordinary hotel room. Think La Quinta or Holiday Inn Express, add L'Occitane soap and shampoo and a bathrobe and that's what you get. This hotel is not worthy of the Four Seasons logo. Stay somewhere - anywhere - else when in Houston.

overpriced - bad attitudes
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/07/07
At this level of service-oriented business, I do not expect to get into an argument with the front desk staff the moment I arrive. I first approached an unlabeled front desk wanting to check-in and was curtly told that this desk was for plane reservations only and I should wait in line at another desk where I was basically accused of lying about the fact that there is NO indication anywhere on their website that their pool is under construction. I just checked the site again and could find no mention of the pool not being available. Later on that evening, my wife and I REALLY wanted to pay $16 for a martini at the bar and got more attitude from the waitress. And $27 for mandatory valet parking? Come on! Regarding the room, I've had better. The beds were not nearly comfy enough. The A/C never seemed to cool the room down and alleviate the high humidity for which Houston is famous. Overall, this is one of those overpriced businesses that nobody questions because it's just always been that way and/or most people who stay there have more money than they know what to do with and don't know or care that they are being massively overcharged for just about everything. I recommend the Omni for better value, service and accomodations. If you check in online, you never even have to stop at the desk.

Awful!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/07
We had a horrible experience at this hotel. After requesting rooms together for family members during reservations, we had to downgrade our room status to be on the same floor. We were awakened at 8am every morning by the sound of construction which we had been promised would not affect our stay. Our room had a weird, funky odor; and was quite shabby. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. Not one thing about this hotel would ever make me want to go back!!! If you do not know Houston, this hotel is far away from everything!!! Even the downtown stuff!!! Awful experience, and for quite a bit of money!!

Great Place to Recharge
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/05/07
I recently stayed at the Four Seasons in midst of a marathon business trip around the country. I don't usually book a Four Seasons stop, but this was a great experience. I found a very attentive staff, comfortable rooms, and excellent food. I even had an awesome deep tissue massage at the spa on a weekend afternoon. Would highly recommend the hotel when you need an oasis in Houston.

I wasn't impressed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/20/06
You think of the Four Seasons and you think up-scale and very fancy. This was not the case here. I would put it in the same category as Sheraton (nothing fancy). My boyfriend and I had a suite. Huge bathroom (best thing about the room). Again, it was nice, but it wasn't ultra fancy and beautiful. The staff was kind and curteous but I didn't feel like royalty. It was O.K. I don't feel the need to go back.

Finesse at the Four Seasons
By frisky07, 09/27/05
Ah. The Four Seasons. One of the finest hotels in the world. having stayed a the Four Seasons Hotels in New York,Hawaii,Beverly Hills and in Austin, staying at the Houston location is a welcome experience. Form the front door attendant to check-in ,to the bell hop,to the ultra-quiet room.to the superb cuisine,to the responsive room service,to the always tasty restaurant cuisine, the Four Seasons Houston, never disappoints. The health club/spa/pool area offers a very pampered retreat from a busy/hectic schedule. The towels,as always, are super thick super soft.Twhole staff is extra vigilant and anticipates every request.Almost as if they are mind readers. The guest profile the hotel compiles does further that process along. I highly recommend staying at the Four Seasons-Houston(or any Four Seasons property). You will be thoroughly satisified. And oh so spoiled. You'll come away with a renewed faith that there are lodging professionals who do exceed industry standards and constantly strive to exceed their guests expectations. I give this hotel a 5 star rating.
