Flying L Guest Ranch, Bandera

My kids and I had so much fun! They loved the waterpark, smores and horseback riding. The room we stayed in was nice, clean and it had a little kitchen. We played shuffleboard, horse shoes, pingpong and they loved petting JellyBean and Brownie (the miniature horses on the property) The bbq by the river was awesome and the breakfast buffet was great too. The water park has a snack bar where you can order food and drinks and they make awesome Hurricanes!! We had a great time and we will be back!!

This is a GOLF COURSE! Not a resort, I Lived In Bandera for 10 years and now i go back for visits. Flying L is a Golf Resort that is trying to cater to the golfers family. The Main Atraction is not the Waterpark, What you should be enjoying in this area is all the town of Bandera has to offer. There are is River that runs thru town that offers tubing. Many Other DUDE RANCHES to choose from and so many attactions just on main street on the weekend. If you are looking to go golfing STAY HERE. If you are a golfers Famliy STAY HERE. If you dont mind staying a little outside of town and enjoying the beauty of the area, and then making a 1 mile drive to get to the action STAY HERE. If you are looking to be pampered or have soemone wait on you DONT. If you want a DUDE RANCH this in NOT it! I enjoyed my condo that i paid for. It had the bare essentials. Nice & quiet felt like i was at home.

DON’T BOTHER!! I am sooo sorry I wasted money on this rip-off deal!! The so-called waterpark has ONE, count it, ONE attraction! Watch your feet in this one, because the paint is peeling up and can cut you. This one attraction has about 30 tubes that you pretty much have to fight over. Hope you don’t expect to actually have fun in the waterpark. The only other attraction, the kiddie pool, is CLOSED! In the middle of the summer!!! There is no place to store your belongings, so make sure you don’t bring anything you would not mind having stolen. The little tiny snack stand near the single water attraction has a choice of hot dogs or chips, so my special needs sister and I went over to the larger snack bar, which had a total of FOUR, count them FOUR selections on it’s ‘world class’ menu. Hot dogs, hamburgers, tuna or chicken sandwich. Whoopie. Even though we were decently covered, the little twit at the counter told us we had to have shirts on! HUH? In a resort whose main attraction is a lame little waterpark, we had to have shirts on? Ugh! What a waste of a nice, sunny day and my money. Never again, and I will tell all of my friends and acquaintances not to bother. Sheesh! What a joke.

We have traveled all over the world and stayed in exceptional and interestiin g resorts. This was not one. Our entire family was relieved to leave. This was the most we have paid for a family of 4 - an expensive $800.00 per night and the most disappointing. I felt for that amount of money the front desk staff should have been friendly. The accomodations should have been more than a dump. There was no entertainment as promised. The food was good and the pool area looked fun for the under 10 crowd. I have never written a poor review in all my travels. I did not want anyone else to waste their vacation time or money here.

We live in Texas and were looking for a change of pace option for our annual family reunion/vacation. We called Flying L to inquire about all-inclusive vacations, followed up with a visit, and booked a 5-day vacation with the understanding from Sales that the rather pricey rate (over $8,000) included everything. We were 7 adults and 6 children. The kids enjoyed the water park and the horses. The food was good but the buffet menu was limited and rather repetitive. The night-time entertainment was marginal and didn't seem to hold our interest. The young kids program was not finely honed nor very imaginative. We were not unhappy to leave the ranch when our 5 days were up, 3 days were probably more than enough for this family vacation. Upon checking out, with our cars loaded with luggage and kids, we received a real surprise when we were met with an additional charge of more that $1,100 for horseback and pony rides. When we complained we were told that the all-inclusive rate on this dude ranch did not include horseback riding. Our written complaint regarding the divergence from what we were told by Sales was also met with deaf ears. I guess that we should have read the fine print. Therefore, our 5-day vacation wound up costing about $2,000 per day, way beyond pricey.

i have been going there for 10yrs and enjoy the golf there. we live in tacoma wa. and this a place we come to all the time. i meet new golfers and just have time. golf is always fun at the flying L AND great staff work with. just try one time and you well see why we love there.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Flying L Sept 28-Oct 5 2007. we took our 5 year old grandson who had a vacation he will never forget. Everyone was so nice and the entertainment was great! The town of Bandera is close by and fun to visit (loved the OST Resturant and "Cowboys on Main"). San Antonio was our real reason for going and we enjoyed it, but we really enjoyed the Flying L experience more!

Everything was great! The service was very good. Very nice people. Plenty of food, the entertainment was great. Kids saw lots of wildlife. Our kids are 3 and 1 and they never got bored. There was fishing, tennis, golf, swimming, horse back riding and several large playgrounds. Our kids are 3 and 1 and they never got bored. Not many kids over 10 the weekend we went. We plan to go back when our youngest is 3. That's when she can participate in the organized kids' activities. It is not fancy but we had a great time.

The cabin was filthy and full of fleas. We had to take my daughter to the doctor for flea bites!!!! There is nothing to do there except play cowboy, and that get's really old, fast. Do yourself a favor, avoid this dump
