Never Again

I am a Packer fan that travelled to Dallas to see the Super Bowl. Almost everything about my trip was exceptional including the game, the Packer fans and many new friends that were Steelers fans. I left Texas with great memories even though I had cancelled flights and travelled ice covered roads; it was all part of the experience. The only issue that left a bad taste for the City of Arlington was the way that the Howard Johnson tried to rip off the fans that stayed at this hotel. I booked two double beds for four girlfriends with two separate rental cars coming from different cities. I paid almost $1,300 for three nights, management then tried to tack on $ 70 per car for parking, and then threatened to kick my group out because we had four people in the room. The manager was completely unprofessional screaming at me in the lobby and then demanding that we pack our bags and get out of the hotel unless we paid an additional $230 for the two guests. They apparently felt that making money on parking additional Super Bowl fans was more important than taking care of their guests. On the Saturday before Super Bowl you know that there are no additional rooms available in the area so we were left with no choice but to pay the additional $230. The grand total for three nights at the very average hotel was $1,500. If you search the rates for this hotel for two double beds, the rates are the same for two or four guests. And don’t forget to order your microwave in advance and be expecting an additional fee for that service, and if your friends stop by to say “hi” its $50 per wristband. Do not stay at this hotel unless you are completely desperate.
