Sunday House Inn And Suites, Fredericksburg

My family and I have stayed there twice and they place is great. The staff is wonderful too. We made reservations a couple of weeks before we stayed explaining it was the anniversary of our children's adoption. When we got to the room we were amazed! There were fresh flowers waiting for us with a card signed by the entire staff congratulating us. The whole weekend they made us feel welcomed and at home. The family size room is perfect for our family of five. Other places said we would have to get 2 separate room. Not easy when you have little ones. Very grateful for Sunday house and we'll be there next anniversary.

It is the only hotel/motel in the downtown area. One block pleasant stroll to the Nimitz Museum and National Museum of the Pacific War. Given the popularity of Fredericksburg by tourists and the extreme parking problems, it was a pleasure to be able to walk and visit the stores and shops. The service was impeccable. We had special needs and they were addressed quickly and pleasantly. The room we stayed in was recently remodeled and very comfortable.

I have stayed here twice. The first time it was a typical hotel and the second time it seemed dirty and old. It was if the owners changed and after that they didn't bother to clean up. There are several new hotels in town that I would stay at and walk a little further to the shops before I would stay here again.

We were in Fredericksburg and stayed at the Sunday House on April 14-15. They are convienently located so we were able to walk to the shopping and eating. They have one of the nicest continental breakfast I have seen. The staff from friendly and helped direct us to places we wanted to go. The room was clean and nice size. We will stay there again. Very nice experience.

We loved the location and the helpful staff. We were referred to a nearby restaurant that was terrific. We probably wouldn't have tried it without their recommendation. Being in walking distance to all the downtown shops and restaurants is a huge plus. The kids loved the pool and we didn't mind the noise from the street as we relaxed nearby. Our room was at the back of the complex, away from the traffic noise on the street. The room was clean and didn't have that usual musty smell of most motels.

We stayed the weekend at Sunday House Inn. We had to stay in a smoking room because we had dogs. No big deal, we have stayed in smoking rooms before and they have been clean and the smell was mild if at all noticeable. When we opened the door to our room the smell was terrible. I went to the store and 2 bottles of Fabreeze later the smell was still strong but tolerable for the night. The next day we tried to shower but it was broken, the hand towels had ashes on them and the blow dryer kept falling off the wall. We requested another room and told no so we insisted on another room and our request was granted. Up the stairs we went to Smoking room #2. The smell was better in this room and the shower worked. All the linens still stunk but no ashes, hurray! The toilet ran constantly and there was broken plastic from the light fixture above the sink on the floor and counter top. And last but not least, the hairdryer in this room did not work at all. We were informed that there were 3 maintenance people on staff, not sure what they are doing with their time. We only stayed at Sunday House Inn for 2 nights but that was enough to keep us from ever staying there again. After we changed rooms we were given dirty looks by the cleaning and maintenance staff whenever we left or returned to our room. The whole experience was very uncomfortable. We recommend that the owners and management staff of Sunday House Inn actually spend a night or two in their own Inn. I am pretty sure the cleaning staff and maintenance crew are ripping them off. Fredericksburg is a great town with good food and shopping, just choose another place to stay.

I have stayed at this hotel many times, plus have had other family members stay here. This is a beautiful motel right on Main St. The staff was prompt and pleasant, the rooms were attractive and neat. Plus the rooms are large compared to other places that I have stayed. I even left an item behind while traveling. I didn't realize that I left it anywhere til I got home and found Sunday House found it and mailed it back to me. I was surprised and delighted. I will stay there any time I am in Fredericksburg.
