Enjoyed the stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/01/09
The location was excellent. My wife loves to shop along the Parkway, and plenty of great eating within walking distance. The room was clean, freshly painted, and plenty of space. We had a room on the sixth floor of the tower and had a beautiful view of the river and shops across the way. The only negative was the noisy spiral staircase to the bedroom area - and that is certainly minor. It had been about 12 years since we stayed here, and some of the recent reviews made me leery of staying here again. I decided to give it a shot anyway. I was glad I returned. We actually got here a day earlier (and at 1 am) but a phone call to the front desk two hours earlier had us in our scheduled room with no moving. The front desk staff and housekeeping personnel were helpful at all times - even when I broke the coffee pot one night. The rates here make it very affordable. I look forward to returning here next year.

will never go back there
By patty, 09/09/09
My husband and i stayed there a couple of years ago thru a reservation we got thru west gate to do a tour the room stunk, woke up every morning hearing saws got ate up with some kind of bugs probably bed bugs. I cant believe a place like west gate would put a person up in a place like that if they think they are going to get business out of them.

Bed Bugs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/09
Great Location, over the creek, right behind the main drag. I thought it was wonderful. Woke the next morning to find bug bites. By that night, I was covered with nasty, itching bites. They were diagonised as bed bugs. Probably 100 bites all over my body. It has now been 2 weeks and the itching is still there. Hoping it doesn't scar. I am so upset. Called the motel the next day to report it and they immediately refunded my money. Now the place is closed down. Didn't offer to cover my medical. I don't know what to do. Please beware.

Great location, great views, southern hospitality
By Atl Visitor, 05/01/09
We stay here every time we visit Gatlinburg. Our room was on the 6th floor with balcony overlooking the town, watched the ducks in the river, listened to live music from the balcony (ended at 10pm). Fabulous! And priced extremely reasonable. Within walking distance from everywhere!

Can't Wait to Go Back!
By He Man, 09/24/08
We were on the first floor right on the river. Beautiful views and ducks below to feed. The rooms were very clean and spacious. We went to the bar and had a blast! The food was great too! They have a restaraunt right there on at the hotel that has wonderful food! We have stayed there 2 years in a row and will go back next year!

This was a GREAT place to stay! Linda says:
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/10/08
My daughter and I stayed from 9/4 until checkout on 9/7. we went to the pool (there are two one was not in service). We enjoyed the view (overlooking downtown gatlinburg) I took pictures every morning. The room was clean and cleaned as promised (linens changed every other day, towels and trash daily). We asked for no smoking and the room smelled very fresh and there was no smoking around us either. I never saw the maid service they must move in stealth mode. All employees we came in contact with were helpful and wonderful to chat with. great location for shopping and walking to downtown Gatlinburg. kudos all around and thank you. I was surprised that there was a microwave and refrigerator in the room. there were two queen beds and a table and a couch and a TV anoire. DELIGHTFUL view from the balcony. and the price was great. we will return.

You couldn't pay us to stay there again!!
By cynthia, 09/03/08
Last years visit was fine. This year it was a totally different place. There was blood on the bedspreads. The housekeeping didnt' change the sheets or clean the bathroom the entire 5 nights we were there. When we told the general manager (since the mgr was never available), he was demeaning and basically called us liars. He said "How do I know when the stains got there or by who?", like we did it ourselves. He said housekeeping told him we had our do not disturb signs up the whole time. When I told him they were never up and how did they come in and take the trash and put in new towels, he said they had it documented (wrote it on their log) so they couldn't be lying. So we as customers were the liars. Talk about being extremely offended and upset. He told me even if it were true that he would do nothing after the fact and in a condescending tone "Have a nice day". I'm supposed to have a nice day after being called a liar and treated poorly? I'm contacting the board of health. It was really nasty. We will not go back again. I urge you not to either and to tell everyone you know. We are going to.

close to aquarium and downtown
By dave and tiff, 07/30/08
the hotel staff is not very friendly, one of the pools and the hot tub were empty when we stayed in July 2008. the room was not filthy, but not clean either. There are so many lodging options in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area that I would not stay here again.
