28 reviews for Brookside Resort, Gatlinburg
Not real impressed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/09
We were there for 2 nights in mid July. The location is great and now the Trolley Stop is right out front, or within walking distance to Gatlinburg. This Motel was taunted so highly on the internet, but beware. Overpriced. When we booked we were told no deluxe rooms were available, so we took a standard room. Not even a coffee maker. When I asked about one, I was told by the staff that for an extra $20 nightly I could have one. Also their breakfast was good, but they don't even put it out until 8 am. Most early risers and people wanting to get on the road were complaining. Even no coffee. But the biggest complaint in traveling with 2 children was the so called 2 great pools-----One was completely closed and the big pool with the waterfall was dirty around the area. And their so called rec room with ping pong was a joke. I hot dirty room up some stairs off the office and the tables were rickety with trash all over the floor. It seemed if you asked for directions or suggestions they were short and abrupt. The room was dated and smelled of smoke. I read some reviews that said smoking was on 1st floor only------We had to take second and was told that was all that they had and the second floor was the smoking floor. Also seemed to attract crowds of rowdy loud guests. Will not use this again. Found out later could have gotten better accomodations at the same price. Don't waste your time.

Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/02/08
Rooms were very clean and spacious. Loved the streamside balcony. Sat out every night and listened to the water. Will book this motel again in June 09.

We loved it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/14/08
We stayed for ten days, ending the July 4th weekend and had a terrific stay. Our kids loved the pool, with its two slides and waterfall. The pool was very clean as far as we were concerned. While the rooms are a little dated, they are very spacious and well-cared for. The staff was very helpful and efficient. And the location was terrific. A nice walk to downtown Gatlinburg. Convenient shops across the street and a grocery store a short drive away. Very pretty location as well - our kids loved playing tin the brook. We are definitely planning on returning.

Not The Same Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/08
This was our fifth year here. We always go for the July fourth stuff and stay for four days. Well when we arrived there was trash in the rec room.Four days latter the same trash still there. The pool was very dirty and cold. This is not the same great place it use to be. What a shame. we liked it so well but i think its time to move on. I wonder if they have new owners.

Will stay again.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/08
Stayed at the motel for 4 nights and really loved it. The best part was the balcony on the stream. Every evening was spent on the balcony! Within walking distance of just about everything. Will stay again when we go in 09'!

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/02/08
our party had 5 room reservations ( over $1000) , there was one couple that could only stay 1 night. ( this was a holiday weekend) they would not let the one room stay for one night. i will never use this motel

Nice hotel and a great deal!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/16/07
I loved Brookside Resort! If we go to Gatlinburg next year, my husband and I are definantly going back!! The price was very reasonable, the staff were super friendly, and it was just around the corner to all the attractions. My husband and I walked everywere, it saved us parking fees and was a good workout.. Last year we stayed in a cabin, and found that we spent more time at attractions than we did in the cabin, so we got this hotel this year, and we were not disappointed..We had a good time and we will definantly be back to Brookside Resort!!

Clean and friendly
By StefanieK, 08/27/07
The staff was wonderful. They let us check in early and helped my husband surprise me for our anniversary. We stayed in a deluxe streamside room. It was large and clean, had a fireplace, a balcony, fridge, microwave. The decor was very outdated, but since it was clean, I didn't mind too much. The pool and hot tub were nice. The location wasn't great for us. It's about three blocks off of Parkway. Don't walk back; take the trolley. It's uphill. They don't serve breakfast, but there is a Pancake house right across the street. My only real complaint was the AC. It worked very well, but it was really loud. We had to turn it off when we went onto the balcony to hear each other and it woke me up each morning when it came on. Overall, a good place to stay.

Very Upset!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/07
This place seemed so wonderful over the internet..but beware. This was the worst hotel i've ever stayed at. First of all they should think of renaming the resort 'the brady bunch hotel' because it is extremely outdated. But this wasnt the worst of things, it was the disturbing weird odor in the room that really was disgusting. Also the pool makes out to be wonderful heated pool with waterfall...but it is dirty and sticky on the pavement. Thank goodness we only had to stay one night because it was terrible!! And believe me its no cheap motel either...they charge you well.

NO AIR CONDITION 92 Degree's
By John, 06/28/07
Pool was nice, And the creek was wonderful, The service from the hotel staff in the office was a joke, The cleaning staff were great, I go to Gatlinburg as often as I can 1-2 times per year for the last 5 years. Ive stayed at several area hotels/motels and this was the worst only beacause of comfort, The first day there found out the air conditioning in our room was not working, Told the front desk of the problem, They said we will have someone there at 8am the next morning this was on a sunday check-in time. So no problem monday morning comes and no one shows up I asked about the problem and they said they came while we were out and didnt find a problem. Please it was so hot we couldnt sleep. I would not recommend this hotel and wont ever stay there again BEWARE all.......
