Super 8 Rapid City Rushmore, Rapid City

I requested a non-smoking room due to health reasons. It was not given and explained that they do not have to comply with reservations outside of their own network. It was a dirty room with unknown sticky substances on the bathroom floor, dark yellow/brown dried drips from the shower rod and dirt accumulated in the corners in both the bathroom and main room. Black stains from liquid covered much of the front of the airconditioner grill. The pillows were extremely thin and even when folded in half would not allow adequate support. About midnight, the air conditioner began popping and crackling. The room was barely cool before and was not bearable afterward with just the window open. About 3:00 AM, water began running from the front of the unit onto the floor. A trash can caught the water, but the conditions of the room prevented me from sleeping. When I voiced my dissatisfaction to the front desk clerk at check out, her response was: "We can't guarantee a non-smoking room if it isn't made through us. As far as the room, I'm sorry, you should have let us know; now, how do you want to pay for this?" I will not stay at a Super 8 motel again.
