Not quite a 3 Star Hotel, but...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/28/09
Older building, well mantained, convenient location between the North East and Florida drive on I-95. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is homey. The food is OK, but don't expect 4 star level! The restaurant has a little character. We like the fact that is not a National Chain with their predictable sameness.! It's family owned and we love supporting the local businesses.

Please replace the beds!
By A, 02/23/08
We've stayed here several times. The Inn is very nicely done, however the beds are pretty bad. Unless they replace them, we'll probably have to stay at another hotel in the area. The beds are rickety - if one person turns over, the other person wakes up - and they are very uncomfortable.

Run Down
By Deb, 02/16/08
For the past few years we have stayed at Clarks on our way to Fla. This past stay was horrible. The room was dirty and the bed was so bad we ended up sleeping on the floor. The breakfast that we were charged 20. for was tasteless. Will not stay again!

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/16/07
Between N. VA and Sarasota, FL. Great Accommodations, clean, and Breakfast is fantastic at the Clark's Inn restaurant (which is included in the price).

Best Southern Fried Chicken but the WORST Steak on the Planet
By bk, 12/10/06
One of the Best Southern Fried Chicken I've ever had. BUT; The WORST Steak diner on the Planet. Go there for the Southern Fried Diner but never ever order their Steak. We complained to the waiter because the Steak Diner was NOT eatable and remained on the bill.

terrible meal
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/06
we usually stop at clarks restaurant for lunch or dinner on the way to or from fl. this time we had a horrible experance.we ordered lunch and we were told by the waiter to help ourselves to the salad bar.after wandering around the place with our plates in our hand,we were told by the manager that salad is served at the table before our meal.our lunch was served 4 minutes after we ordered it. cold .still no salad. the other waitress saw what happened and said sorry about what happened and they would take 10%off the bill. bill came no 10% of and each meal was $5.00 more took bill to manager and he said that we were given old menus.all the menus were the same when we looked at them.i would like to know what happened to this place

I can't wait for the next visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/20/05
I liked the service and the hostile attitude toward me . I liked how clean the rooms were they were so clean that it was unbeleivabe. Clarks inn is the only hotel I will stay in while I visit south carolina. I have no dislikes about this place what so ever and I plan to keep coming to clarks inn forever.

An oasis amidst your I-95 journey
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/30/05
Clark's restaurant is a peaceful place to stop to break up your trip. The restaurant is well maintained and the service is always very good. It has an atmosphere akin to a British hunting lodge. We've eaten there twice; and my parents have eaten there three times. Every time has been a good experience. It was surprisingly good the first time we stopped -- definitely better than anything else we've found on I-95 between Savannah and Raleigh. Dinner includes their salad bar and comes with hot, fresh bread. Be sure to try the Million-Dollar Bread, too. Their pasta was very good; the tomato-basil pasta is great. The local catfish, fried, is not bad; next time, I might try it blackened. (Note -- I have very high standards in catfish. I grew up dining on the local catfish of Ray's Mill Pond of Ray City, Georgia.) Their vegetable dishes are very good. The baked chicken good, but not spectacular. The lunch buffet is reported to be very good. It's very popular, but has never been overcrowded. Dinner with Million Dollar bread and two entrees, but no drinks or dessert, was $32.
