want to live in Hilton head!
By Ronald, 1/31/10
My husband and I went there several years ago, after seeing it on the travel channel. Because we couldn't get a room for our first night in Hilton Head we stayed at the Marriot. Then the next day we moved over to the Hilton Resort, what a huge difference. When I walked in to our room, I said, Now this is a hotel room! Then we opened the drapes and saw the ocean! We loved our stay there, and will come back. My husband was in hog heaven, you could not swing a dead cat and not hit a golf course. We took a boat trip that was really fun and dolfins came right up to our boat! The last day we stayed in Savanna, GA and ate dinner at THE best pizza place in the US (Vinne Van GoGo's), we later found out that the reason the pizza was so good was that they put a little sourdough in the dough. If you get anywhere near the place the smell alone we draw you there.

very relaxing and comfortable
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/09
The resort was very easy to find. It was away from the main road so it was very safe. we have a one year son and it was comfortable for him as well. I wasnt afraid to let him crawl on the floor. the swimming pool was very clean and they even had a kiddie pool. beach access was great. bike rentals were close by so we rode bikes around the resort and even on the beach. the rentals were very affordable. our unit had a small kicthenette which was a little too small for me being that i had to wash bottles and things for my son. the only suggestion i would have is to make sure you check the thermostat when you get there to make sure it's on auto. the fan was on low and the room got really muggy the first night we were there. but after we switched it over it was very comfortable. overall we had a wonderful time. there were things we could do around the island that were close by. the restuarants were great too. we dont have a pet but i could tell the resort was et friendly. there were several dogs walking around and they didnt bother us. there wasnt a lot of barking either. the staff was very helpful and nice. the beds slept well. we would definitely return there for a family vacation. i would recommend to families with children of all ages.

Incredible Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/11/09
With the halls open to the ocean and all the palm trees, this place reminded us of Hawaii. It has an adult pool and hot tub which made it easy to get away from the noise of the kids playing in the other pool. The hotel is located right on the beach and you can walk on the beach for miles. The views from the room were spectacular. The drinks at the bar were a little pricey ($8-10 a piece), but it is a Hilton and not a Super 8. If we were going back to Hilton Head, we would definitely stay here again.

Was not impressed!
By Kimber, 5/28/09
My bestfriend took me here for my 42nd birthday, so we were just wanting to relax and have a good vacation. When we checked in, we were supposed to have a ocean front room, but they put us on the first floor that all we could see from our balcony was the pool resturaunt. So we asked to be moved and at first they said they didn't have any rooms, but when we spoke to a manager we were moved up to the 3rd floor with an ocean front. My friends husband had sent us a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries which was in our first room plus all of our things. We asked them if they could move our things up for us and we waited and waited and finally moved it all ourselves, and then 30 minutes later someone showed up to help us move our things. They were also painting the deck of the adult only pool so we had to go to the family pool which was packed and we had to get down to the pool real early just to get a spot. Hilton Head was wonderful but we were not impressed with the Hilton. My friend said the Westin she had stayed in a couple of months earlier was much better than our much more expensive Hilton room. So for the money it is not worth what you get. Plus parking was terrible. KJ

we will be back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/28/09
my husband and i have been going here for years we stop due to not vacationing for awhile and wanted to get away with a 3yr old.. the employees were wonderful and friend;y from room cleaning and elevators and outdoor staff. great chlid activities for 30-35.00 for certain hours the staff were intershipsfrom out of state and they should be fully employeed there they were out of this world my daughter woke up the next day asking for them very friendly when we saw them again...restaurant HH well don't go way too expensive for the food and quality it was good but not a 4 star buy any means..very disorganized for me to watch for 2 hours observed too much.( me being an old restaurant manager) complained about mashed potaotes being dry and offered butter or sourcream we did not eat them and they still charge)..service great yes price noooo!!! Hilton was to switch us in 2 days to a bigger room and did not no call no nothing... would we go again yes cause what upset us wasn't too bad the child activities and staff of outside won us over. view is outstanding make sure you say you want a view..not a tree or parking lot. drive to the outside for dinner it's cheaper...bouy bar closed at 5 everyone complained about it on memorial weekend..only open late on certain days. very clean hotel and pool..will go again

Great Relaxing Place!
By DebbieV, 3/23/08
Just returned from a 5 day trip at this resort. The resort was very clean which is a must for me. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms very large. We asked for an upgrade to an oceanfront view and were able to get one. I recommend you stay on the 4th or 5th floor to get the great views of the ocean and resort. The food at the hotel restaurant is a little pricey but there are many other options close by. The Hilton Head Diner is a great place for breakfast and is very inexpensive. When you get tired of seafood try San Miguel's at Shelter Cove across the highway. Lots of food enterainment and inexpensive.

OK Experience
By Samuel, 7/6/07
If going to Hilton Head for the first time, defintly stay in a resort off the beach. We stayed at the Hilton Ocean Front Resort on points from Hilton, was treated OK. Ask if there are any groups attending, ask what kind of groups, are the contained in one area? If not aske them to find you a room where they will not be bothering you. We had 250 kids up until after midnight. They were NOT equipped to handle that many kids, security was terrible. Request N. Building, we stayed in the S. Building and was bothered by the band some as well. However, the hotel's grounds are wonderful and the positives outweighted the negatives.

OceanFun
By JayG, 6/4/07
We have been here a few times, as we enjoy the spacious rooms, great service, and luxurious tropical setting(Saw many Blue jays and Cardinals flying around the swimming pool). I highly recommend the Early Bird Specials at Mostly Seafood, their gourmet restaurant. The bike rentals down the road are alo a must.

Yes to Hilton Head
We went here and had a blast ... I did some major shopping and loved all about this little island, even though the people down there are not really used to seeing mixed couples (LOL) but other than that, we loved it. We'll be going back (of course)

Great Customer Service
By Kendall Nelson, 2/9/07
We just returned from the property. My husband and I took our 20-month old son. It was truly a wonderful time. The bellman, who has worked there for over a decade, loves kids and spent his first few minutes upon our arrival showing our son the fountain & palm trees in the courtyard. We rented bikes. Our son went along with us in a child-trailer, which hooks on behind the bike. He loved it, so did we! We also brought a back-pack and carried him in it as we strolled down the beach (something for parents to remember!). The customer service at the resort was outstanding, the beds were so comfortable and the rooms were big. We will definitely return!
