how do some hotels stay in business is beyond me... with this one being 2nd on my list!! check-in clerk was friendly and that was about the only nice thing to say. we checked in, took our stuff in and left. 1st night stay was ok. 2nd night goes down hill. we requested the room not be cleaned, but to leave clean towls/washclothes. upon returning around 9:00pm after being out all day, we found no clean towls or rags. my husband called the front desk for towls. he was told she would be right up to bring them, but 1st we had to bring the used towls down inorder to get clean ones. we took them down and then was told she hadn't had time to get the clean ones. time passed, called again, again she'll be right up. called again, this time she stated she had been busy. called again, this time she doesn't have access to service door to get the towls, but she would call her manager. time passes yet again, i call then and get hung up on. 5 more calls were made and each time the clerk hung up on us. so, i waited awhile longer and called back. this time she said she would make sure we got towls even if she had to go out and buy them herself. ya right!! well, 1:30 am rolls around and i called back. this time she finally has them, but i had to go get them as she's too busy. get there, and i think there was only 2 towls whereas i needed 3 towls and 3 washclothes. by this time, everyone had already went to sleep...
we had already had problems with the toliet flushing, but this time it started running over. so, here comes a man with a plunger plunging the toilet while i was yet in the bed.
gladly the day came to check out.. i then told someone else that front desk how i was treated and asked to speak to management. i was then pretty much yelled at and told off. she starts yelling at me saying "nobody told me to bring dirty towls into the office, that is against their policy and they are not allowed to touch used towls and that only mades deal with that". i was stund!! as i know what i was told and what i did... i told her she would NEVER see my face nor my family there again and i would relay the experience to everyone i knew. and just so happen even someone i didin't know because as i was leaving there was someone going in and i told them what happened. these people was just plain out low down rude people!!!
I had requested a non-smoking room, and didn't get it at first. The room smelled horrible so I requested another room and there was one non-smoking available. It smelled worse than the 1st room, like mold and mildew, and sewage. Someone was going around with a plunger to rooms and another was switching out microwaves because they didn't work. The clerk at the desk was nice and agreed to cancel my reservation. But as for staying there NO WAY EVER!!! Pay a little more and go somewhere else!
The location was convenient. The concierge seemed courteous, but I dont believe I received a room that I requested. I asked for a room with internet access and was told that there were no rooms available. As I was going to my room, the parking lot seemed a little desolate and rooms looked unoccupied. I also received a smoking room. I dont believe they had my best interest in mind.
I get in the room and turn the light switch on and there are no lights. I tried turning on a light manually and found there was no bulb in the light fixture. The next most convenient light had a blown bulb. Later I take a look at the bathroom and found a roach crawling around the bath tub. By the way I killed four more and one got away. There is a huge gap under the door, big enough for a rat or snake to get through. I could go on. Im losing faith in econo-lodge.
Right off the bat, I should have suspected it was substandard by receiving the TV remote upon check-in. The room smelled awful, the toilet didn't flush, there was standing water in the tub, the sink filled with water if you ran the water more than 10 seconds. There was soap, but no shampoo, and only 1 towel (having reserved the room for 2 adults). There was trash in the trashcan, and I killed a german cockroach on the coutertop while brushing my teeth. Didn't bathe there and thankfully didn't have to do anything other than empty my bladder in the toilet. I expected more for $90. I slept okay after I convinced myself I could, but having been up for 19 hours, I expect I would have slept okay anywhere. Spend the extra money and find a real motel. This place is horrible. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
We stayed there only because all other hotels were sold out, in the middle of the week. First tihing in the room the TV did not work. The remote had to be changed. The tv still did not work, We had to plug it in. No trash cans in the room, only one towel one wash rag, no soap. No coffee, I went to the manager and he gave me filter and packet of coffee, the next morning no coffee cups for the coffee. I always look at the yellowpages when I stay at a hotel. I opened the night stand drawer and there was an open condom. When we were ready to go to sleep, we found one of the two beds had not been made. The cover had been pulled up. We ended up sleeping on the other bed. I would not stay at this place ever again.
You get what you pay for. The toiled was missing a lid; the bathroom was rusty and moldy. There was no fixture over the lighting in the bathroom. NO COFFEE IN THE ROOMS!?!?!? The sheets came right off the beds. Service was ok.
First of all, these people are the rudest I have ever seen in a hotel. First of all, when we were trying to make reservations there was a lady on the phone who couldn't understand us at all. Then some guy picked up the phone and said "What do you want?" with a rude tone of voice. We asked if we could speak with the GM or the owner and he just said "They are not here right now, talk to ya later!" and HUNG UP!!!
Then we stopped in just to see who the people are there and actually found out that the hotel is filthy and very unfriendly.
Unlike another reviewer, I found the people to be nice. HOWEVER, the room was old, the shower faucet was falling off, and the 'contenental breakfast' was a joke. Plain donuts and coffee. That was it. No milk. No cold cereal. No juice. Just 'plain' donuts and coffee...period. (There was no coffee in the room, either). The room was clean, but old.
