Mixed experience
By ConnieM, 9/9/09
I had difficulty checking in as I was replacing another person originally scheduled to attend a function. Though the reservation had been changed (and I had the revised numbers), it created problems getting my room and problems checking out later. (I never did get my starwood points). The halls were a bit dingy with low ceilings but the actual room was fairly spacious and had a good mattress and linens so that I had a fairly good sleep. Views from the room were parking lot but there really was nothing scenic in the area to see. Conference facilities were fairly comfortable. This was appropriate for business but not what I would choose for pleasure.

What a Disaster
By Amy, 6/20/09
When my son and I arrived for check-in, I was told by the manager that the package that was included in my stay would not be given to me. I was told when I made my reservation over the phone that my package included Hershey Park length of stay tickets. This was the whole entire reason why I came to this hotel. I traveled here for nothing. The manager said I was given the wrong information and the tickets were only good for a day at the park. The staff there admitted that this problem occurs frequently. The manager blames the reservation department at the central location. It makes no difference to me who made the mistake. It just should have been fixed. The manager refused to make good and resolve the problem. This is poor customer service.

Disappointing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/08
The banquet service was great. The servers were friendly and courteous. However, the people working at the hotel were horribly rude and unaccommodating. We blocked rooms for our wedding, and many of our guests had to switch rooms for one reason or another (broken sink, extremely dirty, power outage). The people at the front desk went as far as hanging up on my wife, whenever she called to let them know the power went out in her suite at 9am the morning of our wedding!! After arriving back at the hotel after the wedding, a bunch of us went down to the bar, and as soon as we arrived around 11- 11:30, they called last call! People were offering money to the bar manager to keep it open for a little bit, but he refused for NO reason(there were at least 25 people who came back to the hotel expecting the bar to be open, because whenever we booked with the Sheraton, we were assured the bar would remain open until 2am). There were many other issues with the hotel staff. It was embarrassing to bring our families to this hotel, with the exception of the banquet service. We will never stay here again.

Rude Staff and Bad Room.
By Kelly, 8/14/08
The front desk staff were very rude when I asked to checkin early. They simply said the earliest to checkin was 3pm. I've never had a hotel simply turn me away when I asked to checkin early. This was especially annoying because we needed to get ready for a wedding. The only help they offered was allowing us to use the hotel pool changing rooms. After practically begging them we checked in at 12:30. How do you go from 3 is the earliest to checking in at 12:30? The room smelled like chlorine from the pool. It was dirty with old worn out beds. I'm glad I only spent $85/night. The only plus side to this hotel is its location.

When is a suite not a suite?
By GM, 7/14/08
I reserved a two-queen-bed suite, at extra cost, so that my wife and I could stay up late after our son went to sleep, only to find that, in this hotel, a "suite" can be one room! I felt like giving them a dictionary. The staff was very nice, and the location was convenient, but those things didn't make up for the false advertising.

Customer Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/21/08
I was at this hotel for a conference. The check in process was quick. I had requested a smoking room, but when arriving at my room found it was a non smoking room. When I contacted the front desk to inform them of my situation, the female clerk said in a rude tone,"Well it was only a request and there are no smoking rooms available". I and a few other smoker's who were in non smoking rooms checked after 3 PM for available smoking rooms and another clerk at the desk gave me the third degree about if I used anything in the current room. I hadn't, and he grudgingly assigned me a smoking room. The room was clean and very comfortable. I sustanined an injury while there and found Carmen, who worked in the restaurant, to be the perfect example of what all employees should be. She was responsive, compassionate, accommodating, and knowledgeable. This lady exemplifies customer service. I cannot say enough positive things about her! The meals we were served for the evening and breakfast were very good. Location was very convenient and easy to find. I would recommend this hotel. Carmen certainly made up for the rudeness of the front desk clerks.

Will never stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/17/08
We used our starpoints with SPG to book our vacation. Paid double points for a suite. When we arrived we found the carpet so stained we didn't want our 3 year old to play on it- the stuffing was coming out of the chairs, they had not cleaned the drawers from the previous occupant- as their shoe insoles were left in the drawers along with a personal letter! We stayed the night- only because we were too tired to leave at that point- and left immediately the next morning. Our entire vacation was ruined- oh, and did I mention that there was only 1 TV for a room that is supposed to be a suite? Good riddance!

A Great Experience
By athenab, 1/7/08
I have to say that our stay at the Four Points was a good one. Initially we had a problem with our room, but the hotel staff quickly resolved it and moved us to a bigger and better room at no extra charge. The service was excellent. I believe the staff went above and beyond to help us in any way and even provided some items we had left at home. The location was only a few miles from our destination which was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you plan to stay in the area.

You would do better at Holiday Inn express, or Comfort Inn
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/07
As I write this from the hotel room (271) I have to tell you we are very disappointed with this place. The building is old and carpet is rather dated. Wall paper is peeling in our room. We expected a heated pool and or a whirlpool. They do have a pool that is not heated enough for children or adults to swim in. We were looking forward to enjoying the pool and relaxing as this is big part of any trip we have. To be honest I recently stayed in a Holiday Inn Express that had better qualities an also had complimentary continental breakfast. We were charged extra you do have a choice for a cold breakfast (continental) $ 7 or a hot breakfast $9. The food was good I will give them that. The bathroom vent cover was filled with lint and it was obvious the vent was broken. The beds were comfortable and the staff was average. I travel a lot on business and when I take my family I expect much better for them In the past week I have stayed at a Comfort Inn, a Holiday Express Inn, and a Courtyard from Marriott. Any of those places ranked well above this place in service and amenities . I admit not all of them had a pool but that did not matter as the pool at Four Points Sheraton in Harrisonburg, PA was to cold to swim in. Regards, Jeff Bales
