great!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/24/11
after reading the reviews below i learned that new owners have taken over in November of 2010 and it is not a bad place at all one of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in!! the fresh baked pastries on the continental breakfast were to die for and the hotel lounge has a great staff and amazing food. we live over 200 miles away and i told my husband i actually wanted to go back for one of there steaks for our anniversary!! The hotel desk staff were very knowledgeable and helped us find our way around. I would recommend this place to anyone that was traveling to the johnstown area

This place is a hell hole
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/2/11
The person who wrote the review in Dec. 2010 is full of crud. The place was awful and should be torn down. There is NO PRIVACY. Your wall is a giant window with a curtain and half of the hooks were off and we couldn't reach to fix them. The continental breakfast was just a few danishes and a few bagels, no fruit or pancakes (like the other person claimed). The A/C is so loud when it turns on and off that it WILL wake you up because you will hear a sound so horrid that you will think someone is trying to kick the door down. There was mold all over the ceiling in the bathroom. The light came in above the curtain and under the door which had about an inch gap at the bottom. I kid you not. I took pictures of EVERYTHING to prove that the rooms look like nothing you see on the website. The chairs were broken and my mother-in-laws one small table had a broken leg. You heard a noise all night that sounded like hammers outside, as if someone was building something. The worst of it is that they don't tell you that on each hall you will either go up or down MULTIPLE flights of stairs depending on which room you are in. My grandfather ended up giving up going to a family's member's room because it was too much. This place is not friends for older people or people with walking issues. I recommend going anywhere but here. And if you do, shower and scrub yourself hard in the tiny shower because the place is filthy. They also tried to tack on extra charges when we checked in for incidentals, but you don't do that until a person checks out and has actually stolen or damaged something. They tried to take advantage.

BEST HOTEL WE HAVE EVER STAYED AT!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/27/10
Personally I am a Holiday Inn Express girl. But when the one located in Johnstown was booked we booked our stay here and THE HOTEL WAS WONDERFUL!!!. Far better than any Holiday Inn Express. They had the best continental breakfast that was not your typical cold buffet of hard bread and yuck cereal. Instead it was a fresh prepared sit down and served hot breakfast that included french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, potato cakes, etc.. and if we wanted something special then they made it no questions asked. The staff were absolutely the most hospitable people. The hotel is family owned and it was clear that everyone enjoyed working there. The rooms were great always clean and stocked daily with the extras (coffee, soap, shampoo, etc...). The managers always personally checked on us daily to make sure we had everything we needed. Everyone went far and beyond what was expected of them to make sure our stay was not anything short of excellent. We will be returning to Johnstown again in March and there will be no debate as to where we will be staying again. I have read the other reviews but the place has come under new management and has been completely remodeled and updated with no amenity spared.

Complaint
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/15/09
I am with the Office of the Attorney General and a man filed a complaint after he lost $219.90 to this hotel. I am trying to investigate the claim, but if anyone has any information on the owner and can post it, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Avoid before it falls in on your sleeping head
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/1/08
5 couples...4 without AC for the 2 night stay. The maint person was a 13 year old boy who failed to accomplish AC. 1st night there, the owner went into a 'bi polar' rage. None of us ever saw anything like that in our lives. Code is non existent in the facility...outlets were without plates/exposed wiring/aged smoke detectors/ rusted thru railings/wheelbarrow on roof. Asking for replacement pillows (stained and disgusting) we were told the last one had been given out. People arrived to find a 'flood' in their bathroom...management simply told them the room would be removed from their bill. This was the single most disgusting experience of our lives (we turn 60 this summer).

Great for the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/24/07
This place is surprisingly nice for the price. The rooms were very clean and the desk people were very friendly and helpful. The pool, which was indoors and heated, was open until 11:00pm which was wonderful since we didn't arrive until almost 9pm. It didn't have a breakfast, hair dryers in the rooms, or any other luxury type items, but for $35 I am not complaining. Great place to stay, sleep, swim, and save some green ^_^

EEEWWWW!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/10/07
This place was horrible.........expensive for what you get, unless you like to pay for moldy walls and floors...dirty bathrooms...and terrible service !Could ALMNOST justify a stay back when it was 35 dollars a night, but not 75 dollars. Not into torture. Cave would be better.
