What a Fab surprise!

My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday this past June with a stay at the Summit Hotel. I thought we were going camping, but instead he got one of the packages the hotel offered which was appropriatley called the "Surprise" package. In the room was a dozen red roses and a chilled bottle of champange with two champange flutes that we were allowed to keep. The room was a bit dated for people that only accept high end contemporary hotels these days, but i thought it was a pleasant little hotel getaway (i am in the middle of the city of Pittsburgh EVERYDAY, so city life can be hectic) , and the hotel itself is very historic and beautiful!!! Fabulous porch to sit on and watch the sunset after a mouthwatering dinner (with the package came credit for dinner, but we went over that limit, but it was a special occasion!) In one of the previous reviews, someone had said if you have eaten at a nice resturant then the prices wont scare you, but if you are not used to it, it will seem over priced. I have had the priveledge at eating at some tasty places, and this was def one of them. Perfect for a nice occasion or a weekend surprise. We also got a breakfast in there dining room the next day which was yum as well (eggs benedict is quite good!). We had a few drinks at the bar that is located in the hotel, and it was very small but very friendly and the bartender was sure to take very good care of us and even gave us some advice on our upcoming rafting trip. Overall, the service at the reasturants, bar, and front desk were very pleasant....i will never forget the lovely surprise that was given to me! We will be back next summer!
