Very nice motel
By Bob, 10/16/11
The motel was a little old, but the room was clean, and the employees were really nice. You can't beat their rates on the antique strip.

very nice motel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/16/11
We stopped here for a rest on our trip. The room was clean, and the staff was nice. It's an old motel so everything in it was a little outdated. They also have a restaurant on site which was very nice.

Can't waite to get out of this bug infested place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/9/11
The 3rd day here I was eaten alive by some kind of bugs, they don't make sure walks are ice free, sink drips, lights out for 2 days in kitchen, Fuses keep blowing in bathroom would not use the worn out pans only 2, broken & washed plastic utensils, only 2 plates all old and unmatching dishes , dishwasher, oven and stove were very dirty, when I complained I was confronted by housekeeper, shelves in small refrigerator broken, coffee pot so dirty I bought my own, animal hair on couch I won't sit on couch or chair to dirty,, 2 outdated TV’s, no alarm clock in room. My job rented for 8 weeks pd almost $2,500.00 for room. Manager came to room and told me I had to move to cheaper room by am for 4 days and then move back and if I don't like it I can leave because they have a wedding party that needs my room. (WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THIS ?) Carpet dirty , bought my own pillows, blanket, dishes ect. I ask housekeeper not to go in room, Housekeeper won't stay out of room. I have to take my medicine and valuables’ with me every day I don't trust them. I can't wait to leave I travel with work a lot this is the worst stay I have had. BEWARE there is some kind Bugs in room 500. I have been spraying my room for bugs every day I don't want to get bit again. I will have all my belongings exterminated before I take them to my home. The manager tried to say that I imagined it but I have pictures of the welts that I got from there. BEWARE EVEN IF YOU PAY FOR THE DIRTY ROOM IT'S NOT A SURE THING THAT YOU WILL HAVE A PLACE TO STAY!!!! I will never stay here again!

Overpriced and Under Clean
By Lisa, 9/22/10
Carpets are filthy, sheets had hair on them, I had to wash the shower walls because there was hair on it, coffee pot has about 1/4 inch of mold growing in the water compartment. FILTHY - STINKY - DISGUSTING and IN DESPERATE NEED OF RENOVATIONS!!! They are WAY overpriced for the amount of work YOU will have to do before you would even set foot in the place. Seriously, mirrors on the ceilings and walls???? More like Hotel California.

Not Impressed
By Zayness, 9/18/10
We wanted to rent a carriage suite; only one left was a smoking room but figured it would be aired out a bit but when we arrived the smoke smell was so bad, it stinks and my eye's and our son's are burning and we are all stuffy. The carpets are so so so gross and dirty stains all over them. The fridge smells like rotten food and the tiny coffee maker is so dirty I had to soak it in hot water. They don't even provide you with a little bottle of dish soap or a sponge to wash any dishes with but yet on the web site it says kitchen with all the extra's. There are like 5 cups all non matching and in the cabinet dirty. The bathroom is clean but the towels are so thin. Thank God we are only staying here two nights . The suite is definately NOT worth the money in this condition. I feel creeped out by the smells in here of garbage & smoke and how dirty the floors are. The one thing good I can say is the person in the office when we arrived so late in the evening was very nice.

We'll stay at the Black Horse again
We chose this hotel based on its good online reviews. We were not disappointed. It's not a destination in itself, but is close to many different attractions. The Black Horse is a rather sprawling lodge on PA Route 272, right in the middle of the antiquing district. It was originally built as a Howard Johnson's in the 1960s. Our room, one of the smallest they had, was nicely updated and very comfortable for my wife and me. We didn't try the Internet access or the pool, but another family was having a great time at the latter. The restaurant, located next to the office, was nearly perfect. It features outdoor dining in good weather. Even the meat loaf was great. We didn't have to go anywhere else for a good meal. All the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a small pavilion and a couple of charcoal grills in the rear of the property which would be useful for gatherings. We didn't use them but they appeared to be in good shape. The Black Horse is a very nice independent hotel/lodge. We'll stay there again.

Grear Golf Package
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/09
We have been coming to the inn for years with 12 golfers and found the hotel an excellent value. The staff was attentive to our needs. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant provided a excellent meal. Sherri and her staff provided great golf arrangements.

Another great stay at the Black Horse
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/29/09
Our group of golfers( about 20) have been staying here for a 5 day golf outing for over 10 years. We keep returning because the staff is extremely accomodating and the facilities including the rooms, pool and restaurant are just great and the price is reasonable. If the weather is bad and we can't golf, Sherrie and her staff let us use a suite for card games and we always have a fantastic BBQ at the pavillion. They bend over backwards to make certain that we have an enjoyable stay. We plan on returning next year again!
