Grear Golf Package
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/09
We have been coming to the inn for years with 12 golfers and found the hotel an excellent value. The staff was attentive to our needs. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant provided a excellent meal. Sherri and her staff provided great golf arrangements.

Another great stay at the Black Horse
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/09
Our group of golfers( about 20) have been staying here for a 5 day golf outing for over 10 years. We keep returning because the staff is extremely accomodating and the facilities including the rooms, pool and restaurant are just great and the price is reasonable. If the weather is bad and we can't golf, Sherrie and her staff let us use a suite for card games and we always have a fantastic BBQ at the pavillion. They bend over backwards to make certain that we have an enjoyable stay. We plan on returning next year again!

Spent a weekend visiting with friends from out of town. Great staff, accommodating, and great outdoor space (pool, pavilion, etc.)

UCH!!
By fred, 07/11/08
Yea, I stayed there when my electric went out. I live just down the street. I kept my shoes on when walking on the carpet. I hope I didn't pick up some bugs! The blankets had burn holes in them, and really, I wouldn't use the towels. UCH!!

a dissapontment!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/24/07
recently booked a stay here for an anniversary long weekend, based on their web site...a HUGE mistake...our "king whirlpool suite" looked like a 70's style bordello! and smelled really musty and moldy...and then we discovered that the a/c was off as of 10/15...the manager understood and booked us into the Holiday Inn next store, a delight...this was the first time in our lives we have ever walked out of a hotel...however, the staff is wonderful, even going out of their way to rectify the charges on our credit card...they deserve a better establishment

AAA. What a joke!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/07
AAA desperately needs to review this motel in order to down-grade the rating to substandard. The Jacuzzi room was dirty with cobwebs, pealing wall paper and mold on tub grout. There was no light cover over the Jacuzzi tub fixture just the bare bulb showing. The exterior of all the buildings had peeling paint on the trim giving a generally shabby appearance to the complex. This place is much too pricy for the area and the look of the motel. Continental breakfast was average, but housed in the bar of the restaurant adjacent to the hotel. It too was shabby looking inside and out. We terminated our stay after the first night, but would have left immediately if not for loosing the deposit money.

highly recommend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/26/07
Great accomodations in the Carriage Suites for a family of 4. Would recommend to others, and will definately consider again for future stays.. If I would have to write something negative- it would be that the laundry facilities were upstairs, and consisted of just 1 washer and 1 dryer. Staying there for 7 days, with 2 teenagers- we had laundry - but laundry mats were close by, so not really a problem.

We're going back again this summer!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/01/07
Been coming to the Black Horse for over a decade and couldn't be more pleased. The location is just off the Turnpike and easy driving distance to Adamstown (antiques), Ephrata (Donecker's, Green Dragon Market, Cloister), Intercourse (Kitchen Kettle Village, Quilt Museum, Weapons Museum), Strasburg (Railroad Museum, Steam train) and the area immediately surrounding (Milen. and Living Waters Theaters, American Music Theater, Rainbow Dinner Theater). Restaurants not to be missed: Good N Plenty (family-style Penn. Dutch cooking), Donecker's (eclectic and excellent) Stoudt's Black Angus (steak and more)Hershey Farm (buffet) and don't forget a very fine restaurant at the Black Horse itself: recommend highly the she-crab soup. Like the fact of a refrigerator and microwave in your room in case you cannot eat all of the great food in the area! The staff is extremely helpful and cheerful while they are doing it...can't beat it! The lobby has a collection of brochures and local papers to help as well. I have my reservations for this summer again and am SO looking forward to it.
