Overpriced Dump
By Mac51, 8/14/09
I should have known when I got into the sauna like elevator that staying here was a bad idea. The hallways were equally as hot and humid. The rooms a/c unit fan powered off and on all night (design flaw that doesn't allow fan to continue to run after room has reached set temperature). As a result it woke me up repeatedly. Not running the a/c wasn't an option as it was very hot and humid during my stay. Housekeeping services were poor. Nightly when returning to my room, I had to go the front desk for soap and plastic cup replacements. My first night, the key card had stopped working and I had to go to the front desk again to reactivate it(my room was on the steamy 7th floor). The high speed internet was barely above a dial-up connection. So slow that it took nearly an hour to upload a 1 mb file. Managements response to problems were met with incompetence and indifference. Do not stay at this hotel if you expect a good nights sleep.

mediocre hotel

The business center is non-existent. Few hotel guests-no room service. Bedspreads dirty-musty room smell. Elevator keys taped off. Front desk service-people off the street-poorly dressed.

Great hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/31/07
I was a recent guest at the Holiday Inn North Hills. It was newly renovated and beautiful. It had a nice upscale feeling. The front desk was very nice and helpful at checkin, since I didnt know the area and would be in for a few days..they gave me directions to the Ross Park Mall (which is right across the street!), and directions to Downtown Pittsburgh, which was close too. I would definatly stay here again...very clean, new and friendly!!

I have HAD to stay there the last 2 years in a row for a couple days each time for work. It is rigt across the street from Ross Park mall.. thats is the ONLY thing it has going for it. The hotel is dirty, my room carpet had cigarette burns on it as well as the comforter. No internet last time I stayed there, no breakfast. Slow elevators. There is a reason this place is so cheap compared to other places. It still isnt a good enough deal for me. I MIGHT stay there if they remodel. It is a transient hotel, that throws loud parties in its ugly ballrooms.
