Thank you Eastgate!!
By Mike M, 04/29/09
We stay at this hotel every year for the Jimmy Buffett concert at Riverfront. The hotel staff takes great care of us every year. When you first arrive you are treated to a lai (sp?) and a beer cup. Then it's off to the party. They have a free buffet and buckets of cold suds. Next comes the bus so no one has to drink and drive. This will be our 5th straight year there. The best! Thanks for all you do Eastgate!! I take real offense to someone's comment about giving out the name of one of the cleaning crew. She was obviously trying to help you and this how you repay her? Then to say that the staff is using drugs? Nice. I recommend this hotel to other parrotheads and look forward to seeing you all again this august. I'll be the dude with the cheeseburger on my head. Fins up!!

For your healths sake please read.
By Spitfyre, 02/01/09
There was hardly a thing to write good about this place-Overpriced,outdated-and friendly staff?ha!I was staying in the suite on the 6th floor and kept sneezing, coughing and immediatley got one of the most god awful headaches ever!I did some of my own snooping and discovered black mold-when I stopped one of the housekeepers whom also seem miserable there,She mentioned that the help always gets headaches from the 6th flr and that they knew of the mold but the bigwig wont do anything about it-they continue to rent it out.I think she said her name was Diane.Needless to say-I left and if they are so careless with the wellbeing of their workers-How can they do their job properly and take of the consumer? Not to mention I suspect heavy drug use amongst the housekeepers.I hope this reveiw will be evaluated and steps will be taken to put things into perspective.I will not stay there again. And if you value your health I hope you will not either.

Exceptional Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/08
The lobby was beautiful and peaceful, with the waterfall. I was very disappointed in the room, no refrigerator or microwave. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever had in a hotel ( seemed to be an old matress). The TV did not want to come on and the channels to view are very limited.

Great Hotel for the price
By JenniferN, 07/30/08
I loved the look of the hotel and the friendly staff. It is located right by many great restaurants and shopping. Our room was better then expected from the other reviews. It was clean and very nicely decorated. They have several types of pillows to choose from so it is just like you are used to at home. The only bad thing was all of the drunk people in the lobby and running the halls and vomiting in the bathroom after parties that were held in the ballrooms. Despite that I would definately go back.

5 Star Staff - 1 Star Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/07
The hotel and wait staff is unparalleled and provided some of the best service I have encountered, however the hotel itself leaves much to be desired. The hotel, featuring a late 80s, early 90s motif is in serious need of an update. Rooms are stuffy, humid and odorous. Bed linens are antiquated as are the furnishings and the in-room TV. The in-house eatery Makkena is one of the few highlights of this hotel. Surprisingly, some of the finest dining and best service in the area can be had in this small diner off the main lobby. The steak was incredible as were the prices. It's a shame the top notch staff is forced to work in less than desirable surroundings and I wish I could say the 5 star service makes up for the 1 star hotel experience, but I cannot.

We have always enjoyed this hotel, but the people were exceptionally friendly and helpful this trip. We really enjoyed our stay. I do not recommend the Breakfast buffet, but heir menu items were excellent.

The most friendly staff I've ever encountered. Clean room, nice high-speed connection...Great restaurant experience too. I srtongly suggest the Ribeye steak or the Walleye.
