30 reviews for The Westin Columbus, Columbus
hoping to go back soon
the room was lovely - very comfortable bed and nicely appointed. The staff was outstanding. They even gave my husband a birthday card and gift in our room quite by surprise. We would definitely reccommend this hotel to anyone staying overnight in Columbus.

Incredibly Friendly Staff, BUT ..
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/07
.... $20.00 per night for parking !!!!! Yes, the place was extremely clean (toilet didn't flush well), the room was cozy (though NO ventilation in the bathroom), the location was perfect -- but $20.00 per night for parking !!! You can bet that in spite of the friendly, courteous bellhops, desk people and waiters (entire staff was great) -- their tips were sub-par to help pay for the parking space -- sorry, but somebody had to soak up the difference -- Oh -- the gym was AWESOME !!! NO complaints there !

didn't excite me
By deborah, 06/11/07
It was raining and no porter offered to help. The first room assigned to us had water soaked into the carpet. Had to move to another room. Charged $20 for one night to park. Sign says $10

One of the worst hotels ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/14/07
Horrible hotel. Rooms too small. Room I received had broken shower, lights didn't function. Service was good. That was about it.

Read this nightmare!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/30/07
We have never before stayed in a Westin Hotel, but heard that they had a good reputation for service and amenities. We stayed one night, and needed to be up early the next morning for a convention. When we arrived, we couldn't believe that we needed to pay $20, as registered guests to park in a lot behind the hotel that the hotel owned and carry our luggage throuh the rain to the hotel lobby. Our room was small, had no chair, and looked old. The furnishings in the room also looked old and worn. The headboard creeked whenever you moved in the bed. I am not sure how they got a 4 star rating. The nightmare began at about 1:30 am, when the young and obviously drunk couple from a wedding the hotel was hosting, stumbled up to their room. The woman feel in the hallway and they slammed the door going in. Once inside their room, they began to loadly play music and laugh and talk. We could hear the words to the music and what they were saying through the wall! At that point, we contacted the front desk by phone, and asked if they could do something, since we needed to be up at 6am the next morning. They called (we heard their phone ring) but the couple elected not to answer it. The noise continued, and about 15 min later, we phoned the desk again. The desk phoned up to the couples room and this time they answered. The music was turned off, followed by the woman screaming, "you people will just need to deal with it!" Which was obviously meant for us. She then proceeded to pound and bang on the wall, exclaiming that she could do this all night long. At that point, we contacted the desk to let them know that they needed to physically go up to the room and take care of the problem. They finally did, and the rukis stopped. It was now 3 am. To top this off, when I got up to use the bathroom after this whole thing started, I saw a roach crawling across the bathroom floor! The only good thing about staying here, was that management was good enough to comp our room for the night. However, we will never stay here again.

Excellent Expirence
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/04/06
The first visit I had to the Westin was back in Early 2005 and was only for a day business meeting. Loved it then. The second trip back was in March of 06 and I was there for business once again for a week and will be returning in two weeks for another week. I found that the staff was extremely nice and helpful with anything (calling the front desk at 2am for an ice pack). It was like by the end of the week you had met this wonderful family of people that took their jobs very seriously. I can't wait to go back for another business meeting soon .. The Location is great as well very close to everything down town. Thanks for a great time and see you all again soon ..

Average Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/06
This hotel is only average considering it is a 4 diamond. Times have changed there are better hotels, Hampton, Hilton Garden, provide better accomodations. I was charged for the parking even though it was part of the package. I wouldn't stay again.

Good Location for Arena and Brewery Districts
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/03/06
The hotel is very clean and staff is very friendly. The Valet is $20 a night and usually prompt, one major complaint with them though - we lef the hotel to walk to dinner and saw the valet start our car to leave for the parking lot, found our dinner choice closed so walked back to the hotel 30 minutes later and our car was still sitting there, unlocked and running (at $2.80 a gallon). It was not even cold for it to be "warming up". We could have just got in and took our own car from the front of the hotel, no valet was even in sight. Other than the valet experience, everything was great. There is what looks to be a nice spa on the 2nd floor. And Starbucks coffee in the rooms is always a plus!

Could have been better
By Lisa G, 01/30/06
For the money we paid for our room, the room should have been in better shape than it was. The headboard was either loose or broken so that we had to put pillows behind it so it didn't bang on the wall and distract us or others when trying to sleep. Also they had tried to clean what looks like mildew out of the tub and shower and didn't get it all. The service was good though and the valet was nice. Very promt. Overall its nice but not worth the amount we paid for the room. ESP when the only view we had was a brick wall. :osa
