Good location, good hotel
By anonymous, 07/19/09
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Great location (walking distance) to restaurants, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Steamship Walter G Mather, Browns Football stadium. 16th floor had great views. A little dated but the beds were comfortable, room was clean, bathroom was a decent size. Some construction outside but didn't interfere with our stay. Park yourself in the garage ($18 a night.) Restaurant for breakfast was ok. Get the buffet, it's the same price and buying something off the menu. Stopped at the bar for a drink and the bartenders were nice/efficient. Front desk lady checkin in had no personality and did not offer any suggestions but the morning front desk fellow was VERY helpful (thanks for the tip of police radar on the way to Football Hall of Fame, the directions and even a coupon for admission!) I would stay here again.

Crowne Plaza is the BEST!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/09
We had a most enjoyable stay at the Crowne Plaza. The room was wonderful and tastefully decorated. Our view from the 14th floor was amazing. We had fantastic views of Lake Erie, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Ballpark. You can walk to everything at this great location. We dined at the hotel restaurant. The prime rib was one of the best that I ever had. I highly recommend this hotel. It is a lovely place to stay. All the hotel employees were delightful and helpful. I will definately visit again.

Don't waste your money!!!
By BZY_MOMMA, 03/18/09
The hotel screwed up our reservations and had to turn our king suite into a double bed room. The room had stained carpets and what appeared to be smoke damage to the light switch in the bathroom. The room was "sleep-able" but not for $175/night. It was more like $70/ night room. Save your money and get a different hotel!

Wonderful!!
By Gwen, 08/28/08
I stayed here recently (last week) with my family. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel at home during our stay. The cleaning staff was a cut-above. We got the room for $65 a night on priceline.com and stayed three nights on the 19th floor with an awesom view of Lake Erie and the R & R Hall of Fame. For some unknown reason (don't know if was through Priceline or American Express), the hotel staff elevated us to some kind of preferred status and we were able to receive the usual $10.95 per person breakfast on the 21st floor for FREE every morning and were also invited back every evening between 5-10PM for hors derves and wine, beer, or soda. That alone saved us a ton of money, rather than having to go out to eat every morning, as we did for lunch and dinner. Upon check out, the manager also pleasantly surprised us with waiving the usual $18 per day parking and charging us only $5 per day. When asked why he was doing that for us, his reply was: "That is what we do for our customers, as we want to provide the best service possible." Between our 11-year old calling the front desk on a nightly basis and us asking for directions, etc.., they never lost patience and were completely professional and kind to us. Thank you, staff at Crowne Plaza, for making our trip to Cleveland UNFORGETTABLE. I would recommend you to anyone, any time. THANK YOU!!

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/07
We arrived at the hotel and was quite pleased with the service and the look of the hotel on the inside. We had a pretty good rate at $180 a night. Once we were on the elevator and up to the 19th floor, it was downhill from there. The halls were hot and nothing was updated. In the room, it was no different from a Motel 6 or Super 8, only the bed was different. If I could rate the room on the bed alone, I would give it 5 stars. The walls were dirty and the rooms are very small. I have stayed in some Fairfield rooms twice this side for less money. We walked in the bathroom and there was no bathtub. I later realized they had given us a handicap room without permission or giving a heads up. The menu was horrible. Not good choices at all. The menu is also very misleading. It says ANYTHING YOU WANT AT ANY TIME when in actuality, you can only order from the menu that is available at the time (breakfast, dinner, lunch, etc). The disaster came when the elevators went out. Apparently, the rain from the thunderstorm that was occurring flooded the basement and all elevators had to be stopped. We had to walk down 19 flights of stairs. Before arriving back at the hotel, we called 5 hours later and the elevators were still out. The manager was nice enough to say 'I WILL GIVE YOUR MONEY BACK IF YOU WANT AND YOU CAN GET A ROOM SOMEWHERE ELSE'. We made our way back to the hotel, retrieved our money and had to walk up 19 flights of stairs in a non air conditioned stairwell with hundreds of other people. It was humiliating. People were having chest pains, cold sweats, leg cramps, asthma attacks..you know it, we say it on one floor or another. The staff was trying as best as possible to assist people but unless they were willing to retrieve everyone's belongs from their rooms and bring them to the lobby, nothing was good enough. I give this a TERRIBLE rating only because of the elevator experience, the small and dirty rooms, menu, and the less than thrilling view of construction sites. Hope your stay is better than mine. FYI - We found a wonderful room at Baymont on Mayfield Road for $75 a night. Wonderful big rooms and great staff!

Friendly staff
By MBC, 03/02/07
We had a great weekend here in February. The rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly and the price was unbeatable. We did request a room change after discovering lots of rowdy neighbors - and were quickly and happily accomodated. Breakfast downstairs in the restaurant was delicious and quick. Drinks at the bar that evening were also prompt and well made. Overall, we were very pleased.

Great visit!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/24/06
After reading the poor reviews of the Crowne Plaza I was pleasantly surprised at the wonderful rooms, the staff and the food. Beds are the most comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay again at the Crowne.
