Ahoskie Inn - NEVER AGAIN!!!!
By D, 5/13/10
My experience at this hotel was horrible and I would neither stay again nor recommend to another guest. Sadly this was all a result of the horrendous customer service received by one employee in particular. It is a shame that one person had such an effect on my family and I and our perception of the hotel as a whole. She was rude from the time I called for directions, to my arrival where she claimed not a single room was available to check in when there was hardly a vehicle in the parking lot, not a hint of courtesy or assistance of any kind. My family and I, including 3 small children dressed for a wedding in the public restroom, which I had to locate myself. I inquired if she knew where the church was, she coldly answered a single "no". Not once did I EVER receive a single apology for the many inconveniences suffered throughout my stay, not all of which I care to mention. When I did return to check in, forms were dropped in front of me with no explanation as to their importance, fortunately I can read. My key also placed down and an arm was stretched in what I believe was the direction of my room. My room was on the "courtyard" side where young adults and children decided to loiter and play music well into the night. And for my several hour long wait, one would think that the room would have been immaculately clean - not even close. Need I go on?? Long story cut very short, spend a little extra and give yourself some extra time and stay outside the city and as FAR AWAY from the Ahoskie Inn as possible!!!

OK
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/22/08
Unfortunately, there are not too many choices for hotels in Ahoskie. This hotel can definitely use some remodeling. The furniture in the room looks ancient and someone did a bad cawking job around the bathtub. We did not have enough washcloths in our room so I went to the front desk to ask for more and the attendant stated that they did not have anymore. We only stayed one night thank goodness but if you have to stay longer, I would recommend that you not stay in the city of Ahoskie. On a good note it did have a microwave and a refrigerator in the room.

PLEASE REMODEL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/26/08
I STAY AT AHOSKIE INN ON 06/20/08 AND PAID $68.00.THE HOTEL ROOM WAS IN POOR CONDITIONS. THE BATHROOM WAS SO BAD I WAS UNABLE TO TAKE A SHOWER. THE MATTRESS, FURNITURE,WINDOW TREATMENTS AND CARPET WAS SO DIRTY. IT IS TIME TO REMODEL.

Not too bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/07
My room was decent, that is I was not afraid to sleep under the covers, but I agree that the bathrooms could have been cleanier, and there was a slight odor in the building and the place could stand some remodeling. It's basically the only HOTEL in the small town. I was please that it did have a microwave and refrig. And for that reason only I give them two stars. We took food with us and unfortunately forgot to bring utensils.. I sent my husband down for silverware and he returned with one fork for the both of us. Maybe they are afraid some will walk out with silver. You dont have much of a choice in Ahoskie, but I think I might try Jerigan House bed & breakfast the next time i visit friends and family.

Very surprised
By Andrew, 7/3/07
When reading the other reviews I was leary about getting a room here but decided to get one anyways, there are not to many choices in Ahoskie. But I was very pleased with the room and the staff was very freindly. The building is old, 70's ish, but the room was clean and had a fridge and microwave. Normally I stay at hoilday inn's and ramada's type hotels and this was just as nice as any of those. Would stay again if in Ahoskie.

could have been better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/06
we went down for a funeral and were recommended to stay here. It looked nice in the lobby and the woman at the desk was helpful. We had drove all night and wanted to nap before the services started, it was very quiet and we were able to sleep soundly, the beds and pillows were very comfortable. Although housekeeping was not so great, there were yellow stains on the walls around the toilet, looks like men peeing were not great aimers, but a little spray cleaner and a sponge would take care of that, the shower and sink were still dirty from who ever stayed before us, hair and shampoo in shower and toothpaste still on the faucet. There were dead cockroaches on the floor by the windows(i geuss i was at least happy to see they were dead) we did look for alive ones and didn't find any. The sheets were rather stained and didn't give us the most comfortable feeling but they did smell clean.

tender loving care to hallway carpets and bathrooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/15/06
The location was good, but the carpet in the hallways needs a good cleaning or get new carpet, the bathroom need a lot more of tender loving care.(get on your knees and scrubb the floors and get in the corners and around the toilet real good).

I can't believe I paid $65.00 for a 1 night stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/14/06
The only really clean area in this hotel was the main lobby and conference areas. The carpets in the hallways were stained, worn and didn't look like they had been cleaned in years. Most of the room doors were marked or badly scratched and needed to be restained or replaced. The furniture in my room was banged up,chipped or scarred and the table was missing a big piece of laminate on the top surface. The tile in the bathrooms had years of accumulated grime where the met the baseboards and around the tub. I requested a wake up call that I never received. The staff there were cordial at best.

If you gotta stay somewhere
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/24/06
The front desk people lack personality all shifts. The room/bed was old. I would not walk of the carpet in my bare feet nor in the bathroom. They have an excellent magazine selection in the lobby. They told us the hotel was sold out but we could have a handicapped room . We never saw the lot full. I think alot of the rooms are not available to buy maybe in bad shape. We never saw more than 15 cars in the lot. When you only have three hotels to pick from you gotta pick one. The Tomahawk only had 2 cars when we drove by that is why we stayed here. The bar is only open on Saturday nights, maybe.

Will Stay Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/18/06
Since the other motels in the area are not to my liking, we had no choice but to stay at the Ahoskie Inn. I would not want to stay more than two nights. The room needs to be cleaned better, there was dirt, dust and stickly stuff on the table legs and on top of the table. Even if the rooms do not get used and they should be cleaned everyday. The airconditioning/heating system is in a bad place, while sleeping the air/heat is blowing on you during the night, not healthy. I have stayed twice but only for a night, if the heating system was changed and the room was cleaner I would consider staying longer. The carpet needs to be cleaned too. I thought the price was a bit high for just a nights sleep.
