Description

Quaint villages are framed by snug harbors on Long Islands scenic North Shore. You will come upon the stately summer home of Teddy Roosevelt. Opulent mansions are set along the Islands famous Gold Coast, the place that American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald memorialized the lifestyle of a time long ago in his book, The Great Gatsby. If you enjoy shopping, then you are in luck. The Miracle Mile that Billy Joel sang about is a row of upscale retail shops called the Americana Manhasset. This once fishing village changed long ago by Dutch settlers who began building homes and using the surrounding area for farming and grazing.

best location and great summer place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/18/09
me and my wife visited the tides oin july 2009. This the best and clean place for the money we paid. They have nice pool. adventure park next to it. mexican restaurant attached to the motel. it was very convenient for us for the breakfast. This place has lot of potential but needs little work on landscaping and parking and fix up the out side. staff was very helpful.

The rooms are awful nothing has been done to them in years. There are roaches in many od the rooms , the sheets are old , the carpet is gross and the bedspreads are years old and filthy! the staff is nice but that's about it . The place is totally run down and filthy!

Great value, super nice staff!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/08
I made a second trip "home" 9/08 to the w/i 3 months to the North Shore of Long Island and again, I chose The Tides, this time for my entire aprox. week long stay. In addition, I brought along my fiance, now a fellow Texan but who grew up across the Sound in Ct. She raved about the location, the staff, the quaint motel, the small town and restaurants. Needless to say, we plan to many more trips "home" and we plan to utilize The Tides as our primary Motel on all such trips. We both recommend it highly to singles and families. I can attest to the great improvements made since 1999, it is indeed, a different place--a much nicer place to stay, one we'll be going back to often.---Marty Hansen-Austin, Tx

Love going there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/24/07
I love it so much! There's great things to do by that hotel and they make it worth your money. The room is great for me and my bf. It's very clean and the service is awesome. Whenever we need something they get it for us quickly.

Keep Driving
By Dawn, 7/29/06
I was driving through and needed a place to stay...I should've kept driving! The location is nice, but for the rate I paid, they could certainly afford to clean up the rooms and make the outside a bit more appealing. I will say the office manager was pleasant and helpful... I don't think I'll be in the area again, but if so, I will keep driving to the next place I see!
