Not worth the money

We were recently in NYC for a conference, the Hilton was the host hotel, but was booked. The Warwick was across the street so it was convenient, the price changed several times during our booking process, until it ended up being $100 more per night than the Hilton. For $350 per night, the carpet was stained, and the room did not have any extra outlets so in order to get on our computers or charge our cell phones, we had to disconnect lights. Soap dish in bathroom was falling off, short in light switch over bed and overall the room was not as nice as the Hilton's room. Saw a 3 inch roach in the ice room. Also, they disconnected our room keys the night before, so we had to get let in that evening and a new card was not issued, bascially trapping us in the room the rest of the night. Staff was friendly, but service was not attentive unless you paid for it. Be warned - 3 steps into and out of lobby and it will cost $10 to have bellboy take your luggage out of the hotel (we opted to lug it, after a $1500 stay, we weren't paying to leave). It snowed when we were there, the entrance was cleared but the curbs were not, so once we lugged our suitcases up the stairs and onto the sidewalk, we couldn't get them off the curb. Since I noticed every other hotel and business had cleared a path to the street, I walked a block down to get across the street.
