Great location--that's all!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/10/11
I stayed at the Roosevelt the last weel (May30th-June 4th 2011). The hitel is a great location, within walking distance to most NYC attractions. Apart form that and it's nice-looking lobby it's really not worth the price. The small rooms need a serious revam. The front desk staff--except the joyful Marcia--need a public relations course.

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/10
The lobby is very beautiful. But the cozy room is very "cozy" (small). Bathroom is so old, tiny and dirty. Service people are careless. I will not stay at this hotel again.

Very disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/6/10
The only nice thing about this hotel is its lobby. It's very beautiful. Other than that, this is a very old hotel. The ice vending machine in the hallway was broken. The bathroom was very outdated and dirty. The bathtub was very old, dirty and clogging. The toilet seat was moving around when I sat on it!!. The A/C made huge noise when running. The room doors closed very fast and made big bangs when people entered or left their rooms. We could hear the noise very loudly when we were in our room. The room quality is worst than many motels that I've stayed. Highly not recommended.

Planning my return trip already!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/6/10
I have no complaints about this hotel and had a great holiday!! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Bell man Steve - was great at getting us settled in and giving us useful information about the hotel. Our room was clean and tidy, but the air conditioning vents were broken but still worked so that wasnt a problem. The reception staff could have been more welcoming a smile goes a long way, but i didnt have to see them again until check-out, so once again that didnt bother me. I was in New York to have fun and that is exactly what i experienced. I would recommend this hotel to those planning to see the New York and not stay in their bedrooms, lol.

Horrible Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/13/10
We had a horrible stay at the Roosevelt. The room was gross. It smelled, the lamp shade was ripped, the baseboards were missing, the desk was so old and wobbly you couldn't use it. To top it off, they lost our luggage on the day we checked out. They were very rude abour losing our luggage and even accused us of misplacing it. They had the audacity to say if we find our luggage upon returning home to please notify them. We filled out a security report and was told someone would be contacting us within 24 hours. It has been over a week and we have not heard from no one. We have placed several calls and all have gone unanswered. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here!!!!

NOT RECCOMMENDED!!!!
By Anthony, 11/24/09
I stayed at the Roosevelt and was very displeased. The rooms were awful they were very small and they smelled horrible. Very outdated. The bathrooms were disgusting the water was rusty and yellow. The bathtub/shower kept cloging. No clock, safe was broken, lamb was broken. The service was awful. I do not reccomend anyone stay here.Way over priced for a dirty smelly hotel room....

Quite an experience
By LoneWolf, 9/11/09
You have to stay in this hotel at least once in your life. You will be disrespected by the rude and bad mannered porters at the door, particularly by an individual called Joe. He will not give you your luggage even if you are in a rush. You will have always something missing to be replenished in your room. One day it will be towels, next it will be soap and so on. You will experience bedbug bites even one week after you leave the hotel, yes, you read right, bedbugs! You will have to wait forever to get a lift. You will have to cruise different floors until you find a ice machine that works. You will not have the need to complain because nobody will listen to you. What I say, you have to stay at least once in this hotel, and then you will appreciate other hotels service even if they are regular or roadside motels. You will be really happy when you get back home and you will know if your skin react or not to bedbug bites or not.

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/15/09
While the location of this hotel is ideal and the lobby is nice, just about everything else is subpar. The rooms are outdated and the particular room I stayed in smelled terribly. I found the peple at the front desk to be extremely rude and unhelpful and, after having my luggage and its contents damaged while in the care of the porter, would not recommend their services. I cannot stress enough how disappointed I was with my stay.
