Plan on Returning over and over
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/23/10
My fiancé used to vacation on Seneca lake she badly wanted to return. We decided to do it this year for our anniversary. After some searching we found the two hotels, Rainbow Cove and the Showboat. I was a bit skeptical of the Showboat because of the reviews (which you will see as you scroll down), but once there on the water they had the only rooms actually on the water (which is exactly what my fiancé wanted).
We stayed in room 6 the first night. The motel clerk did not advertise the room’s amenities (there were few) but they did talk of the view and that’s what she wanted. The balcony was quaint and the view breathtaking. Whatever the room lacked the view made up for!
We left undecided on if we would be staying on the lake two nights, after a long day at the Windmill we decided to return. They had no lake side rooms vacant so we opted for a Jacuzzi room (let me tell you, that was awesome!) The room was spacious, the Jacuzzi spectacular, the room had a little refrigerator and a little coffee pot.
We had dinner the second night at the restaurant, best choice of my life. We both ordered the rib eye steak and it is the best I ever had anywhere! We ran into John during our stay, multiple times. John was very accommodating to my fiancé (she can be and was quite demanding), there was no disrespect or rude behavior on his part. He was very friendly and there was always a smile on his face. She was happy so I was happy J
I spoke with him at length over the steak I had eaten. He told me where he orders it from and why its so good, he didn’t appear hurried or bothered at all.
All of our servers were very gracious and the other guests that were there were friendly. Being a bar there was the local crowd both nights but there was nothing inappropriate, they were all very friendly and the bar closed both evenings around 11:30-12am.
My fiancé would recommend the rooms on the water and myself; definitely the Jacuzzi rooms! I plan on going again and again in the months and years to come!
